Witchcraft: The Result of Fallen Human Nature

Witchcraft: The Result of Fallen Human Nature

View original Note on Facebook.

Witchcraft is the universal religion of the fallen race. (Derek Prince)

In our fallen nature, our natural inclination is to operate in witchcraft. Pre-Fall, the only power we "used" was the Power of God. But look at what God says to us after the Fall:

[Woman's] desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you. (Genesis 3:16)

The "Desiree Translation" says,

Women will desire to manipulate their husbands, and men shall dominate their wives.

Both of these are witchcraft.

Derek Prince, the late British deliverance minister, identifies witchcraft by these three words:

  1. Manipulate
  2. Dominate
  3. Intimidate

God's order is for wives to INFLUENCE their husbands, while husbands are to COVER their wives. Yet sin corrupts this divine order and it may not even be for an evil intention. Yet it doesn't just happen within the family structure, but in society as a whole. And the intention of the person doesn't make a difference. Here are some common examples of witchcraft that more than likely we've all been guilty of at one point or another:

  • Guilt-tripping (the most common)
  • Peer Pressure
  • Prayer & Prophecy (done in the fleshly/soulish realm)
  • Seduction (various types including spiritual and sexual)
  • Withholding Sex
  • Threats & Violence
  • Praying over Candles (i.e. praying a person's name to make them do something, lighting "abundance candles," etc.)
  • Word curses/negative words/character assassination

Some other forms include the traditional witchcraft (i.e. spell casting, potions, conjuring, charms, cursing, rituals, etc.) as well as drug use (being controlled by/addicted to a substance).

The end result is to bend someONE or someTHING to your will. We often think of witchcraft in spiritual terms--and it certainly includes that--yet primarily, it is a work of the flesh, exerting your will over God's.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, SORCERY, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21 emphasis mine)

When you dabble in witchcraft, you instantly become guilty of two other sins: rebellion and idolatry. A most deadly combination.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. (I Samuel 15:23)

Witchcraft is rebellion against the will of God; it exerts your will over God's and thus, makes you an idolater. And there are biblical examples to prove this deadly trinity.

  1. Saul: REBELLED against Samuel and God, exerted his will over God's (IDOLATRY), and eventually, consulted the WITCH of En Dor.

  2. Saul/Paul: Exerted his will over God's (IDOLATRY) and thus REBELLED against God in his active attempts to intimidate (WITCHCRAFT) the Christians.

  3. Ahab: REBELLED against God, married the witch Jezebel and became an IDOLATER, and entered into WITCHCRAFT through his manipulative marital union.

  4. Herodias (Spirit of Jezebel): REBELLED against God, IDOLIZED her unlawful marriage to her husband's brother, Herod, over the Law of Moses concerning divorce, and seduced (WITCHCRAFT) her husband through her daughter into giving her John the Baptist's head on a platter.

You get the idea.

Witchcraft is A LOT more common than people realize and often practiced in the church.

Example 1: Pastors who curse those who leave their church

Example 2: Pastor's wives teaching wives to control their husbands by withholding sex.

Witchcraft is our natural go-to if we don't allow God to truly be Lord over EVERY area of our lives. I've had people try to control me through the fact that they accurately prophesied to me or prayed for me. I've had family members, exes, and others try to guilt me into doing things or feeling a certain way. And yes, I've had people attempt to "actively and literally" try to kill me through traditional witchcraft.

If you think witchcraft is nothing to be concerned about or something that cannot influence you, then you are already deceived. If you are a Christian and actually believe that, then you must not have read the Bible too well. We are NOT to have a spirit of fear, we are not to be obsessed with the devil and evil, but neither are we to be ignorant of the devil's devices!

In these "last and evil days," we must understand that the efforts of the enemy are being accelerated even as God is accelerating and redeeming the time for His saints. The devil knows his time is short and as such, is seeking to deceive and take out all he can. He's seeking to infiltrate the Church at a much higher level than ever before. Don't be deceived! Every spirit in the pew, choir stand, musician's pit, and pulpit is not of God!! Check it before it checks you!! And if you've got a witch preaching in your pulpit (traditional or evangelical), then run for your life! Find a place where the Love of God is made manifest because it is HIS perfect love that casts out ALL fear! Praise God!! :)
