Throughout this exploration of Jezebel’s family tree, we have met her parents, Baal and Asherah (Part I, Part II, and Part III). We have met her three personalities: Delilah, Herod, and Absalom. We have met her siblings starting with twin big brothers, Perversion and AntiChrist, as well as her big sister, Religion. And last time, we introduced you to her daughter, Witchcraft (Part I and Part II). Now, we will introduce you to Jezebel’s son, Homosexuality, also known as the Eunuch Spirit.

Eunuchs in the Bible

Homosexuality or rather, the Eunuch Spirit, is one of the spirits most obviously associated with Jezebel. It’s easy to see in Scripture how these two spirits are connected, yet we often forget how it translates into everyday, modern life. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s look at the Eunuch Spirit in the Bible.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron, saying: ‘No man of your descendants in succeeding generations, who has any defect, may approach to offer the bread of his God. For any man who has a defect shall not approach: a man blind or lame, who has a marred face or any limb too long, a man who has a broken foot or broken hand, or is a hunchback or a dwarf, or a man who has a defect in his eye, or eczema or scab, or is a eunuch. No man of the descendants of Aaron the priest, who has a defect, shall come near to offer the offerings made by fire to the Lord. He has a defect; he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.’” (Leviticus 21:16-21)

“‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and what your fathers have accumulated until this day, shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left,’ says the Lord. ‘And they shall take away some of your sons who will descend from you, whom you will beget; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’” (II Kings 20:17-18)

Then the king’s servants who attended him said: “Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king; and let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather all the beautiful young virgins to Shushan the citadel, into the women’s quarters, under the custody of Hegai the king’s eunuch, custodian of the women. And let beauty preparations be given them. Then let the young woman who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti.” (Esther 2:2-4)

Do not let the son of the foreigner Who has joined himself to the Lord Speak, saying, “The Lord has utterly separated me from His people”; Nor let the eunuch say, “Here I am, a dry tree.” (Isaiah 56:3)

Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans. And the king appointed for them a daily provision of the king’s delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of that time they might serve before the king. Now from among those of the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego. (Daniel 1:3-7)

There are more passages, but you’ve got the general idea. So let’s review:

• Eunuchs are often slaves/captives of war.

• Eunuchs serve in a position in a royal household.

• Eunuchs, especially those who serve queens/women, are generally castrated (made physical/literal eunuchs).

• Eunuchs may also occupy the position without being castrated.

Thus, eunuchs are typically, but not always captives of war who work in some royal capacity and, at least in ancient times, were almost always castrated for the sake of sole dedication to their profession and the prevention of sexual intercourse and pregnancy if they served women.

The job of a eunuch may be glamourous, but the physical state of a eunuch is decidedly not.  

Remember what Daniel, Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael had to go through? 

1. They were kidnaped.

2. They were given the king’s food (doctrine) and drink (spirit). (Thankfully, they got out of this one.)

3. They may have been castrated.

4. Their names were changed (the God-factor was removed from their names).

5. They were put in the king’s pagan university.

And while promotion followed promotion for them, their lives were constantly under the threat of death due to the whims of a tyrannical, borderline insane monarch. We can imagine that under the rule of Jezebel (and Ahab), life would have been dangerous from day to day as well.

It’s very much like people who practice witchcraft. They get high on the power they are “given,” yet if they make one misstep, if they anger the devil, those same demons who work in conjunction with them will come and beat them down! It’s an illusion of power; it’s not real. The power they give you is not for your benefit, but for your bondage as well as the bondage of others. It’s something John Paul Jackson called a “veiled ploy.”

You can see this veiled ploy at work in the lives of those in the LGBQT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Queer/Questioning Transsexual/Transgender) community. Much like in the sexual revolution of the 60s and 70s, these “queer folk” scream aloud that they are liberated in their sexuality, but the truth is, they are anything but. They could not reason with sexually confusing thoughts and feelings they had and or they couldn’t make sense of sexual molestation and abuse that happened to them, so they began to question their sexuality, perhaps experiment, and when they still could not make sense of it, they decided--against God’s Word--that they *must* have been created that way. The devil IS a lie!!!

Eunuchs in Modern Times

Nowadays, our modern-day politicians don’t need to be physically castrated to serve. And while the term “eunuch” may have been a glamourous, albeit, painful one in days gone by, it is a term of mass perversion in places like India today.

To some, “eunuch” is just another word for “gay man” or "gay male prostitute.” In India, they’re called “hijra.” In the Bible, they were called “perverted persons.”

And there were also perverted persons in the land. They did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel. (I Kings 14:24)

And [Asa] banished the perverted persons from the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made. (I Kings 15:12 emphasis mine)

And the rest of the perverted persons, who remained in the days of his father Asa, [Jehoshaphat] banished from the land. (I Kings 22:46)

Then [Josiah] tore down the ritual booths of the perverted persons that were in the house of the Lord, where the women wove hangings for the wooden image. (II Kings 23:7 emphasis mine)

But the hypocrites in heart store up wrath; They do not cry for help when He binds them. They die in youth, And their life ends among the perverted persons. (Job 36:13-14)

The term “perverted persons” here is translated as “qedeshim.”

Qedeshim, that is, those practicing sodomy and prostitution in religious rituals. (Biblegateway.com)

Not much has changed since then.

It’s funny that one of the arguments many gay theologians and LGBQT sympathizing theologians argue is that God could not possibly take issue with modern day homosexuality because the type of homosexuality that was condemned in Scripture was prostitution, not a “loving” relationship between two grown, consenting individuals.

LIES.

ALL same-sex behaviour is condemned in Scripture. And Paul knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he declared:

Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. (Romans 1:24-27)

This message was addressed generally, to the Church, and specifically, to Romans. And as a Roman, Paul would have know that homosexuality, whether in love OR lust, was widespread and socially acceptable at the time. In fact, I would dare to say that we have not seen an era of such widespread acceptance of LGBQT behaviour until now.

First, homosexuality was introduced into Roman society (likely, due to their assimilation into an adoption of Greek ways of life) as a sure form of birth control. Since, obviously, a man cannot impregnate a man, it was an acceptable way to slow down the overpopulation of Rome.

Second, pederasty was the rule of thumb in Greco-Roman society, later, in Norse (Viking) society, and, as I am told, even in some aspects of the “thug life.” Here is how the Wikipedia Page defines it:

Pederasty or paederasty (US /ˈpɛdəræsti/ or UK /ˈpiːdəræsti/) is a (usually erotic) homosexual relationship between an adult male and a pubescent or adolescent male. The word pederasty derives from Greek (paiderastia) "love of boys",[1] a compound derived from παῖς (pais) "child, boy" and ἐραστής (erastēs) "lover". In French, however, "pédérastie" has been used as a synonym for homosexuality between adult males (see Histoire du mot pédérastie).

In other words, homosexuality was considered alright as long as an older man (the active partner, giver) was in love with a younger boy (the passive partner, receiver) who was old enough to “consent.” While the movie Troy portrays Patroclus as Achilles’ beloved younger cousin, history presents him as Achilles’ lover. Similarly, in the movie Alexander--WHICH I DO NOT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!--Alexander the Great was a great homosexual (or bisexual) who took a young, effeminate Persian lover when his troops expanded into that region. Which brings me to my next point…

Third, homosexual relationships in the Ancient World, from Sumer to Rome, were seen as openly acceptable. Men were often away at war, fighting, eating, playing, and sleeping with their comrades. Thus, they felt it natural for these homoerotic feelings, experimentation, and relationships to develop. This, I believe, is why many homosexuals easily misinterpret the love of David and Jonathan in Scripture. In ancient pagan culture, it would have been no surprise for two such young men to fall in love with each other. But they negate the truth of Scripture in drawing this conclusion.

Yes, Paul knew EXACTLY who his audience was and how controversial it would be amongst them. It didn’t matter that the modern TERMS of LGBQT sexual orientations weren’t around; the CONCEPT very much was. And it is likely with these two distinctions in mind, “love” and lust,” that Paul--in case anyone had further questions--stated:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor SODOMITES, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. (I Corinthians 6:9-10)

The ESV Translation states it this way:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (I Corinthians 6:9-10)

And they include this note:

1 Corinthians 6:9 The two Greek terms translated by this phrase refer to the passive and active partners in consensual homosexual acts.

ALL homosexuality is an abomination in the eyes of God.

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. (Leviticus 18:22)

If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. (Leviticus 20:13)
