Statement of Faith

I BELIEVE in the Divine Godhead, the Holy Trinity consisting of the Father, Son, and Spirit; three distinct Personages in One.

God the Father. God the Father is the self-existing, uncreated, Creator of all that is, was, and ever will be (John 1:1-4). From everlasting to everlasting, He is God (Psalm 90:2).

God the Son. Jesus the Christ, the Word made flesh (John 1:1-2, 14), only begotten Son of God (John 3:16), born of a virgin (Luke 1:26-56, Matt. 1:8) lived sinless (Heb. 4:15), the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8), purchased our redemption in our stead on the cross (Gal. 3:13-14), descended into the earth upon burial in a borrowed tomb and preached in the bowels of the earth (Eph. 4:10, I Peter 3:18-20), rose again on the third day (I Cor. 15:3-4), ascended to the Father in Heaven (John 3:13, Eph. 4:8-10) then ministers sporadically to His disciples before His second ascension (Acts 1:1-3). He will return again soon (Rev. 22:20)! (See below.)

God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit or "Ghost" of God Who assisted in Creation (Gen. 1:1-2), bears witness to the Son (I John 5:6), and guides us into all Truth (John 16:13). He is the Wisdom (Deut. 34:9, Eph. 1:17, James 1:5) and “Finger” of God which operates through the sons (and daughters) of God in the earth (Exo. 8:19, Luke 11:20).

I BELIEVE that salvation can only be obtained through acknowledgement and true repentance of sin (Matt. 4:17Acts 3:19Rom. 3:23-26). Salvation is an unmerited gift of God (Rom. 6:23) extended to us by faith in the grace of God (Heb. 11:6) and not works (Eph. 2:8-9).

I BELIEVE that while we are all creations of God, we are not all sons of God. Sons of God, in the spiritual sense, are those borne of and walking in the Spirit of God and not their own will (John 1:12-13, 3:5-6; Rom. 8:16; I John 3:10, 5:2).

I BELIEVE that without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6).

I BELIEVE baptism by water is a symbol of our death to the world and new life in Christ (Rom. 6:4, Col. 2:12-13). And while our salvation is not dependent upon this act, it is highly recommended as proven by biblical demonstration. We also believe baptism is for those old enough to make a conscious decision regarding their faith.

I BELIEVE baptism in the Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues (known or unknown) (Acts 2:4)--not to be confused with the gift of tongues and interpretation of tongues (I Cor. 14:6-19)--while not necessary to our salvation, is necessary to building up one’s spirit-man (I Cor. 14:4, Jude 1:20), praying mysteries (Rom. 8:26, I Cor. 14:2), and the demonstration of the supernatural power or “Finger” of God (Mark 16:17-18, Acts 1:8).

I BELIEVE in the wonder-working power of the Blood of Jesus! I believe that the blood speaks for us (Gen. 4:10, Heb. 12:24), cleanses us (Isa. 1:18, I John 1:7) and protects us (Exo. 12:23)--when applied (plead).

I BELIEVE the nine fruits of the Spirit of God should flow in every believer’s life (Eph. 5:9, Gal. 5:22-23).

  • Love

  • Joy

  • Peace

  • Longsuffering (Patience)

  • Kindness

  • Goodness

  • Faithfulness

  • Gentleness

  • Self-control

I BELIEVE the nine gifts of the Spirit of God are capable of flowing through every believer’s life (I Cor. 12:1-11, 14:12; Heb. 2:4). They are, however, not necessary to salvation. These gifts are also independent of the character of the person. They are also irrevocable or without repentance, meaning backsliders may go on operating in them (Rom. 11:29).

  • Word of Wisdom

  • Word of Knowledge

  • Faith

  • Healings

  • Working Miracles

  • Prophecy (not to be confused with the office of the prophet, see Eph. 4:11-16)

  • Discerning of Spirits

  • Diverse Tongues

  • Interpretation of Tongues

I BELIEVE in the full operation of the Fivefold ministry as is ordained by God and not man (Eph. 4:11-16).

In this order:

Apostles. A sent one (Rom. 10:14-15) who is a pioneer and forerunner as well as a builder and planter (Jer. 1:10) in the ministry of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. They are the foundation of the Church, built upon the Chief Cornerstone (Psalm 118:22) and Rock Who is Christ (Psalm 18:2, 18:46; Isa. 44:8, 51:1) upon which the entire Church is built (Matt. 16:18, Eph. 2:19-22). Their ministry is confirmed by the “seal” of signs (II Cor. 12:12; Acts 2:43, 4:33); and apostolic growth/following (I Cor. 9:1-2, Acts 2:47). They may also be prophets, evangelists, pastors, and/or teachers.

Prophets. Oracles (those who speak forth what God is saying; I Peter 4:11) and seers (those who see what God is saying) (I Sam. 9:9, Isa. 30:10, Jer. 1:11-19) are as necessary today as they were in the Old Testament. They are called to work alongside apostles and pastors (Eph. 4:11, I Cor. 12:28) just as they worked and should work alongside secular leaders (Gen. 41:37-57; Dan. 1-2, 4-5). Prophets prophesy in different measures and realms (i.e. local, regional, international prophets, etc.) (Rom. 12:3, Eph. 4:7). The prophecies they decree (write) and declare (speak) will ALWAYS align with the written Word of God (John 16:13, I John 4:1-3). They may also be apostles, evangelists, pastors, and/or teachers.

Evangelists. These are called to proclaim the gospel and win souls (Prov. 11:30). They exalt Christ so He can draw the masses (John 12:32; Acts 8:5-13, 8:26-40). They also, in a sense, are sent ones (Rom. 10:14-15). They may also be apostles, prophets, pastors, and/or teachers.

Pastors. Pastors are called to shepherd God’s flock; they are concerned with looking to the needs of their flock and growing them in the Lord (I Peter 5:1-4, Acts 20:28, Matt. 9:36). They may also be apostles, prophets, evangelists, and/or teachers.

Teachers. Teachers may possess any combination of the Fivefold gifts listed above and are charged with the breaking down of the word of God, making it more “consumable” for those sitting under them (I Cor. 12:28, 14:19; James 1:3; II Tim. 3:16, 4:2; Matt. 28:20; Prov. 9:9; Ezek. 44:23; Mark 1:22; Col. 1:28). They may also be apostles, prophets, evangelists, and/or pastors.

I BELIEVE that we are one Body full of many members with many gifts (see above) (I Cor. 12).

I BELIEVE that the Bible is divine (II Tim. 3:16); absolutely unadulterated, infallible Word of God (Psalm 119:140, Matt. 5:17-18); a double-edged Sword of the Spirit (Heb. 4:12, Eph. 6:17).

I BELIEVE in the Great Commission, taking the Gospel of the Kingdom of God into “every man’s world” (Matt. 28:16-20, Mark 16:15-18).

I BELIEVE in the full demonstration of the supernatural power of God through both the anointing (God’s power operating through man, Isa. 61:1-3, 10:27; Luke 4:16-21; Exo. 8:19; Luke 11:20) and the glory (God’s power operating independent of man, Acts 2:16-21; II Chron. 5:13-14; Psalm 68:1; Isa. 6:1, 58:5) (Mark 16:17-18).

I BELIEVE that we are in a very real spiritual battle that is continually pouring over into the physical/tangible realm. The war has already been won by Christ in eternity, yet we must still battle on earth in the dispensation of time (Eph. 6:10-18; Psalm 144:1, 18:29; II Sam. 22:30 Rom. 8:37).

I BELIEVE in the power to declare (speak; Isa. 46:10, Job 22:28, Rom. 4:17) and decree (write; Hab. 2:2, Isa. 30:8) a thing, to bind (forbid, declare illegal) and loose (permit, declare legal) a thing in spiritual warfare (Matt. 16:19, 18:18-19).

I BELIEVE in angelic assistance (Psalm 91:11-12, 104:4; Heb. 1:14). God commands His angels accordingly as we speak and pray the Word of God (Psalm 103:20-21).

I BELIEVE that the love of God comes with Truth (John 14:17, 15:26, 16:13; I John 3:24-4:6, 5:6)  and power (see above) (II Cor. 6:6-7, II Tim. 1:7).

I BELIEVE the blessings of God, Scriptural or prophetic, are contingent upon our obedience to the Word of God (James 1:22-25, Matt. 6:33, Deut. 28).

I BELIEVE in having a ready defense for our faith (I Peter 3:15).

I BELIEVE that Jesus will return soon for His saints (Rev. 22:20)!

Rapture. I believe that Jesus will make His third appearance (the first being His appearance after His burial, but before His ascension, and the second being His appearances after His ascension on the earth for 40 days) at the Rapture. The trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive will follow, and all will be changed into our glorious incorruptible bodies in the twinkling of an eye (I Cor. 15:51-53, I Thess. 4:16-18).

Tribulation. After God removes His own from the earth, God will remove His hand, the Anti-Christ (I John 2:18, 4:3) will come to power, and the Tribulation will begin (Matt. 24:15-28, Mark 13:14-23).

Millenial Reign. After the Tribulation comes the Millennial Reign of Christ on the earth during which the saints reign with Christ and Satan is bound and unable to tempt for 1,000 years. At the end of this period, Satan will be loosed to tempt those he will and a final battle will be waged (Rev. 20:10).

Judgments. During, in between, and/or after the Tribulation and Millennial Reign will come a series of judgments (see Dan. 8, 10-12; Rev. 3-22).

New Heaven & New Earth. After all the judgments are doled out and the world and heaven as we know them have passed away, will come a new heaven and a new earth which will never be abolished. God’s eternal reign will commence (Rev. 21:1; Isa. 65:17, 66:22; II Peter 3:13).
