The Rainbow: The Promise and the Perversion
And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.” (Genesis 9:12-17)
The rainbow is a beautiful thing. I’m not sure why God picked it to be His sign of covenant and promise, but He did. Unfortunately, like many words such as “gay,” “truth,” and “tolerant,” the LGBQT and progressive liberal community at large has hijacked these words and perverted them for their own use. But let’s get back to this rainbow.

We’ve read that it is the sign of the covenant between Noah and his descendants--us--for all time. But what is this covenant exactly? In short, it is the same mandate that God gave Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden: be fruitful and multiply.
So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man’s brother I will require the life of man. Whoever sheds man’s blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man. And as for you, be fruitful and multiply; Bring forth abundantly in the earth And multiply in it. Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying: And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you, and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth. Here are the four main points we pull from the covenant:
Be fruitful and multiply
Have dominion over the earth, its produce and animals, etc.
Don’t spill blood of man or beast unnecessarily
God will never destroy the earth and its inhabitants by a global flood again
So knowing that, one would understandably wonder how on earth the rainbow, the sign of God’s covenant with man, became a symbol of the gay community, the destruction of God’s covenant with man.
Closeted gay people historically used bright colors to signal their homosexuality to each other. Oscar Wilde was famous for wearing a trademark green carnation on his lapel, and the flower is thought to have been used by him and other Londoners and Parisians of the late 19th and early 20th centuries to quietly express their orientation. Novelist Robert Hitchens described the phenomenon in 1894’s The Green Carnation, and the book in part spurred Wilde’s trial for sodomy. Yellow was used for the same purpose in Australia. According to the book Sunshine and Rainbows, a study of gay culture in Queensland, “If you wanted to attract the attention of the same sex, displaying a pair of bright yellow socks often did the trick.” During the Holocaust, gay men were forced to wear pink triangles, and that symbol has since been reclaimed by the gay community. Purple also became a popular symbol of gay pride in the 1960s and 1970s, when San Franciscans tried to make a symbol of “the Purple Hand” and gay Bostonians put up posters emblazoned with a purple rhino.
The rainbow, however, wasn’t popularized as an official symbol of the gay community until the 1970s. In 1978, San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker designed what is believed to be the first modern gay pride flag by combining eight stripes, each a different color with its own symbolism: pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for art, indigo for harmony, and violet for the human spirit. When he wanted to manufacture the flag for sale, he found that hot pink wasn’t as available as the other colors, and so the flag dropped to seven colors. Baker later dropped indigo to maintain an even number, and the flag arrived at its contemporary six colors. When San Francisco gay activists marched to protest the 1978 assassination of city supervisor Harvey Milk, they marched with Baker’s flags.
Pop culture also gave the rainbow resonance with gay activists, perhaps because of Judy Garland and her signature song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Garland was a major star to the gay community throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Gay men came out in droves for her performances, and, from World War II forward, many in the LGBT community referred to themselves as “friends of Dorothy,” a phrase that seems to have derived from Garland’s performance in The Wizard of Oz. The pivotal riots at the Stonewall Inn occurred just hours after Garland’s funeral, and her death may have helped provoke the unrest. Garland had earlier bragged, “When I die I have visions of fags singing ‘Over the Rainbow’ and the flag at Fire Island being flown at half mast.” Garland died in 1969, before the popularization of the modern LGBT flag, but some Fire Island houses were reportedly draped in black.
In a separate interview with TheBlaze, rainbow flag creator, Baker, stated:
The rainbow came to mind almost instantly as an obvious expression of diversity and acceptance,” Baker explained. “The rainbow is a part of nature and you have to be in the right place to see it. It’s beautiful, all of the colors, even the colors you can’t see. That really fit us as a people because we are all of the colors. Our sexuality is all of the colors. We are all the genders, races and ages.
How ironic.
How sad and deluded that a symbol of the fruitfulness and flourishing of humanity has now been hijacked and rebranded as the antithesis of human fruitfulness and flourishing.
Same Sex Couples Cannot Be One Flesh
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:227)
And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” ...But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:18, 20-24)
And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” (Matthew 19:4-6)
Male and female God created man. Man is humanity. Males are men and females are women. God did not create us to be both male and female. Neither did He create us to choose which sex we prefer. (It’s a shame we have to spell this out, but apparently common sense is no longer common!) The male-man was created first and from his rib, God created the woman. Thus when a man marries his wife, his rib is being returned to him.
Only a woman can be a rib. And only one woman can be a rib (at a time). God only took one rib out of the man’s side, not two or three so you know right there God does not promote polygamy or multiple sexual partners. The rib was formed into a woman, thus solidifying the truth that a man (not a boy!) should only ever try to marry a woman. If God had wanted a man and a man to join in sexual and marital union together, then He would have worked that out. Same thing for a woman and a woman or any other grouping one can think of.
Furthermore, God called the woman, the female-man, the helper. If a man marries a man, simply put, he has no help, no helpmeet. Just a duplicate of himself. Similarly, if a woman marries a woman you have two helpers and no one to help.

Sexually speaking--and forgive my crudeness--one penis does not magically invert and create a space for another man’s penis to enter into his body. And the anus, unlike the vagina, was not specifically made for a man’s penis to enter it. In fact, anal sex comes with a host of sexual concerns and issues. Why? Because “when purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable” (Dr. Myles Munroe). Neither does a woman’s vagina suddenly grow and protrude into a phallic shape so it can enter into another woman’s vagina. That’s why lesbians have to buy dildos and employ other means through which to create a penetrating sensation. But the “natural use” of women is wasted on gay men as is the “natural use” of men on gay women. And sex is the greatest symbol, prophetic demonstration if you will, of the man and woman becoming one flesh: bone of the man’s bone and flesh of the man’s flesh.
Same Sex Couples Cannot Be Fruitful (Reproduce)
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:11-12)
“But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.” (Mark 10:6-8)
While sex was first and foremost created for the oneness, the unity, of marriage, it’s functional purpose is procreation. The oneness of sexual unity, in a healthy situation, creates human offspring. And this is a spiritual law.

When God created the earth and set Eden in order, He decreed that the seed of a thing to reproduce itself is within that thing. Not within something or someone else. Plants produce seed that enables them to reproduce themselves. Human as well as most animals, insects, etc. require both genders (both meaning that there are only two genders to choose from) to procreate. Specifically for humanity, this requires the seed (sperm) of one man and the egg(s) and womb of one woman to produce, incubate, and deliver life. This is the most basic biology lesson, yet it seems as if many of the “educated” minds of our time have forgotten the simplicity of truth and are busy trying to override and remake it. Only, they can’t. Not really.
DNA from two human beings of the same sex was never God’s plan for a human child. DNA from more than two human beings was never God’s plan for a human child. Man was never meant to join with animals or aliens (fallen angels) to produce offspring. We see what happened with that in Genesis 6! But alas, Jesus prophesied that these Last Days would be as that of Noah in which humanity was going after strange flesh and reproducing unnatural seed which turned on and sought to destroy real, full humanity.
Same Sex Couples Cause a Society & Civilization to Degenerate
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Someone once asked John Paul Jackson if homosexuality was a result of a depraved or reprobate mind. He broke down Romans 1 for them which shows us that homosexuality is not produced by a reprobate mind, but rather, produces a reprobate mind.
Some of the definitions of “reprobate” include: to refuse to accept; reject; to foreordain to damnation.
“Depraved” means: very evil; having or showing an evil and immoral character; marked by corruption or evil; especially perverted.
This depravity is what is permeating our society. The LGBQT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Queer/Questioning Transsexual/Transgender/Transitioning) community may be the minority, but they are LOUD and they are demanding rights--rights they already had--but they are perverting the rights to their own wicked ends and our nation is and will continue to degenerate because of it until we restore righteousness to our government.
Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people. (Proverbs 14:34)
If we want to see the effects of sexual immorality especially in the areas of homosexuality, then we need look no further than the Roman Empire.
Marriage is the bedrock of the family and the family unit is the cornerstone of society. Thus, if we destroy the bedrock, the cornerstone of society, then we destroy the very foundation upon which our great nation and civilization is built. Way to destroy ourselves from the inside out!!
Same Sex Couples Cannot Have Authority or Legal Dominion
So the Lord God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” (Genesis 3:14-15)
And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:19)
Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 18:18)
Once upon a time, God created the human race in His image and with His likeness. He placed us on the earth in the Garden of Eden where His Spirit and perfection reigned supreme. And it was good. Man possessed the earth and exerted authority over it and all of its non-human inhabitants (Psalm 115:16). But Satan in the form of a Serpent too had been placed on the earth; he fell from Glory and landed there with his deceit in full swing and stole into Eden. He found Eve by herself and whispered his seductive lies to her, she in turn influenced the man, and both fell from Glory as well. Thus, by deceit and default, Satan has become the illegal custodian of the earth, causing the dispossession of Adam and Eve. Ah, but when Jesus came, died, and rose again on the third day, He returned custodianship of the earth to humanity with one condition--they must belong to Him. Being born of the Spirit of God and not of flesh or the will of God enables us to be sons of God, heirs, who are seated in heavenly places in Christ, reigning on high. We can bind--prohibit and declare illegal demonic/Satanic acts in the earth--and we can also loose--permit and declare legal godly/angelic acts in the earth. We already had the image (appearance) and likeness (nature) of God, but now we have His Name, and Blood, and Spirit that enable us to act in Christ’s stead. That’s how it is meant to be. But the homosexual community, while created in God’s image and likeness, cannot partake of this authority.
Any power not from God is either fleshly, soulish, or demonic. At the Tower of Babel, the people exhibited fleshly (bodily) power in their efforts and it aided evil. The Old Testament, especially the Book of Jeremiah, is full of woes against “prophets” who speak--not out of the Spirit of God--but out of their own soul: mind, will, and emotions. This is witchcraft and it is evil. Both fleshly and soulish power create a foothold for demonic power which is very real, yet carries no authority to operate. Only the power that comes with the authority of Jesus Christ can be trusted. Thus, the LGBQT community does not and is incapable of operating in a power that bodes them or the society they dwell in well. It is utterly destructive and demonic on a personal, familial, educational, governmental, and societal level.
Legalisation of Same Sex “Marriage” Puts Us Smack Dab in the “Days of Lot”
And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man….Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. (Luke 17:28-30)
What happened in the “days of Lot”? When the angels were sent on an errand to see if Sodom and the entire valley would be saved or destroyed, they met Lot who was a righteous man and took the visitors into his house. He showed them great hospitality, but the wicked men of Sodom surrounded the house and demanded that the “men” be brought out to them so they could have sex with them. When Lot refused, they even threatened to rape him too. Lot, for whatever reason, even offered to give them men his daughters, but they wanted the angels. (See Genesis 19.) It puts me in mind of a similar story in the Book of Judges.
Exactly six books later in Judges 19, a very similar scene takes place. A Levite goes to hunt down his concubine who “played the harlot” and went away to her father’s house. They make their trip back home much later than the Levite originally anticipated and as a result, stay the night in the territory belonging to the tribe of Benjamin and there, a kind old man takes them in for the night. (No one else would keep them.) But apparently, the local depraved men caught wind of their arrival, surround the old man’s house as they did Lot’s, and demands to have the Levite given to them so they can have sex with him. Like Lot, the old man refuses, and the Levite, also like Lot, offers the Benjaminites his concubine. They proceed to gang rape her until dawn at which point, she falls down dead on the threshold of the house, her husband tells her to get up and when she doesn’t, he tosses her on his beast of burden, goes home, chops her body up into 12 pieces, and sends those pieces to the 12 tribes of Israel to incite a reaction and retribution.
AWESOME.
Ladies and gents. We might not be chopping up dead, gang raped bodies, but the utter (sexual) depravity of everyone doing what is right in their own eyes as in the days of Sodom and even Israel is here. The desire for men (and women) to go after strange flesh is here. The unbridled sexual appetite is here. And as John Paul Jackson prophesied before he died, the danger to straight men by gay mobs is coming, but for the grace of God!
Same Sex “Marriage” Brings Us Closer to the National & Worldwide Destruction of Humanity
Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord. Then he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain; and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land which went up like the smoke of a furnace. And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt. (Genesis 19:23-29)
As we alluded to in the last point, if we act like Sodom, we can expect the repercussions that rained down on Sodom. If we legalize sexual immorality as we have done and there is no righteous remnant to cry out and repent on behalf of the nation, we will be destroyed.
Promise or perversion?
Multiplication or division?
Reward or repercussion?
Justification or judgement?
The choice is up to us. I for one choose to reclaim the rainbow for what it was intended to be and has always been: the promise and banner of God’s covenant over my life and that of His children.
And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-Lord-Is-My-Banner… (Exodus 17:15)
