HEARTBROKEN...Remembering Dr. Myles Munroe, Kingdom Evangelist Extraordinaire
When I heard the news Sunday night on Facebook, I thought, "This HAS to be a joke." There's no way Dr. Myles could actually be *don't say it* dead.
Dead.
The exact opposite of everything he was, everything he represented.
He was LIFE! BRILLIANCE! His very personality was like a glimpse, a small peak at the treasure trove that is Heaven. The Kingdom revelations he dropped on us were light years ahead of that of his contemporaries. And Dr. Myles didn't preach or teach Kingdom, he WAS Kingdom.
He lived what he taught us.
He let us know that harsh, mindless evil words cannot control our achievements and purpose in life--IF we choose to not let them.
I'd like to know where that early teacher of his is who said something to the effect of him being about as brilliant as a chimpanzee. They told him he was retarded. Yet before he died, Dr. Myles was arguably one of THE most recognized AND authentic preachers of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, recognized by both the Queen of England, HRH Queen Elizabeth II, and the Emperor of the Universe: God Almighty.
Dr. Myles was planted by the Hand of God into the (then) British colony of the Bahamas (now independent) so God could teach him, first hand, the concept of colonization. Kingdom colonization. Just as God planted Jesus into the greatest ancient empire of the world, Rome, so God planted Dr. Myles in the greatest modern empire of our time, Britain.
I remember when I would dream of setting up a boarding school (or schools), creating curriculum, and including his books as an intrical part--K-12--because that's just how important his message was. And there's no way his message could have carried so much weight if that weight didn't come from the other, eternal realm of Heaven. I still have this dream (and you, if you're reading this, this is one dream I don't mind if you copy-cat me on!), so hopefully one day, it'll happen.
Dr. Myles also taught us how to live.
He taught us that the graveyard is the richest place on the face of the earth because it's full of untapped potential: books that were never written, songs that were never sung, businesses that were never started, inventions that were never made, cures that were never realised...it's all there, in the graveyard. If you die even partially full, you didn't fulfill your purpose. Be like Dr. Myles: DIE EMPTY.
Dr. Myles Munroe always taught, wrote, and preached that when you don't know your purpose, abuse is inevitable. He was a fellow Golden Eagle, a student of Oral Roberts University, and every year he would be the keynote at my church's Kingdom conference. He taught us how to "find our spot" in the world. He taught us about "The Most Important Person on Earth": The Holy Spirit. He taught us so much!!!
I have pages and pages and pages of notes from his teachings. I have scores of his books. People thought I was crazy when I was going broke to buy his books (and steal a couple from my parents). People were annoyed with me when one night after a conference, I stood in line with about 5 books I wanted him to autograph. He autographed every one! I then asked him if I could line up again with some other books I had hiding under my chair so he could sign those too. And he said a resounding "Yes! This is a smart young woman!" Furthermore, I had my assistant pastor smuggle about 7 more books to him afterward to sign and every time, he signed EVERY SINGLE ONE. I could probably sell all those books and make a fortune off his signature (he told me it was worth A LOT and that was years ago!), but I wouldn't dare because they're such a treasure to me, especially now. I would starve just so I could sit through his business luncheons at my church in between services so I could glean from his wisdom even though I couldn't afford the meal ticket.
I ran him down whenever I could, lol, and even though I assure you he never remembered my name (and probably never remembered to tell his kids I said hi, lol), he always recognized me immediately and greeted me warmly. He was a wonderful man of God!
My all-time favourite book of his was "Understanding the Purpose and Power of Woman." Everyone, ladies AND gents, if you haven't read this yet, PLEASE do!
Next to Jesus, there was no one Dr. Myles loved more than his beloved wife, Ruth. And his children, Charisa and Chairo. I went to ORU with both kids. Had a big crush on his son too, lol.
Dr. Myles Munroe and his only son, Chairo (Myles Jr.).
Dr. Myles and his only daughter, Charisa, and his son, Chairo.
If you knew this man, or knew of him, then you were BLESSED. Lady Ruth was the epitome of class, elegance, and Proverbs 31, a figure of quiet strength and intelligence. Please keep Charisa and Chairo, their family, the family of the others lost in the crash, and their entire ministry in your prayers.
If there was ever a man that knew his purpose, Dr. Myles was it. Myles Munroe isn't here anymore to minister to us directly, but his legacy is. Follow his lead: Get to know the Governor (Holy Spirit) for yourself, understand your position in the Kingdom [of God], and live your life to the fullest! You never know what moment may be your last. That's why the Bible tells us TODAY is the day of salvation. As one of my acquaintances said, Dr. Munroe is now *finally* in the place where God lives. If you'd like to join him, please ask Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour NOW. Don't delay! Don't waste any time! And don't make any excuses! Tomorrow is not promised to any of us.
