I wanted to dedicate a post to the practice of smudging a.k.a. burning sage...or better yet, why you should NOT smudge or burn sage. Whether you are involved in Wicca, New Age, Voodoo, or a Native American religion, smudging is a worldwide practice employed to cleanse a person or place of evil spirits or the more modern term, “negative energies.”
Astral projection. Likely, from either media, church, or some other dark source, you’ve heard of this practice. Also identified as soul travel, this practice is MUCH more common than you would think. At the time of my writing this, it’s just days before Halloween, and this actually plays a role in some of the Halloween (Samhain) symbolism we’re so used to seeing, namely the witch on the broom. But first, I’d like to share some past experiences with you.
Continuing with our #FAIRYTALES blog series (which thus far could be referred to as a Disney Princess series lol), our next story is Moana. I hope you’ve enjoyed my History of Halloween Series so far! We touched on jack o’ lanterns first, then broomsticks. Today, we’re discussing the Samhain superstitions behind black cats. This post was originally featured on AncientSuperstitions.com and was penned by a Hispanic mystic and psychic. Now obviously black cats in and of themselves are not bad. I’m rather partial to them myself! We must understand that God created all creatures to be good and kind. And while the Occult has seemed to lay claim to certain of them, others being snakes and owls as well as toads and frogs. But this does not mean that they are evil in and of themselves. That said, you’ll want to look into their history to understand their intertwining with the dark celebration of Halloween. Read on.

All forms of magic and witchcraft, whether socially acceptable or not, whether white or black, whether helping a cop find a missing child or cursing a woman to barrenness are all undoubtedly wicked in the eyes of God and a snare that keeps people from knowing Him and or growing deeper in Him. It will deceive you if you let it, and sometimes, even when you don’t.
This is the basis of all contracts with Satan, formal or otherwise. “Bow down” and worship him and he’ll give you what you want--and so much more you don’t. And when he’s had his fun amusing himself with you, he’ll take it right back and, bar the grace of God, drag you down to a devil’s Hell for all eternity with him.
