Jezebel: Another Accuser of the Brethren

Jezebel: Another Accuser of the Brethren

I recently did a reel on all my platforms explaining that as a prophet, there is absolutely a place for judgment that includes correction, rebuke, and exposure. This is a portion of the governance that is inextricably connected to the office of the prophet.

HOWEVER, if you don’t also have a ministry of reconciliation and restoration along with your “ministry of judgment,” then you DO NOT have the heart of the Father.

You have the heart of Satan. More specifically, the heart of Jezebel.

SATAN, THE ACCUSER

Satan is not a name; it’s Lucifer’s title. “Satan” means accuser. This title encompasses Satan’s role in Heaven—yes, he has a role in Heaven…STILL!! To accuse the brethren.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?”

So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”

So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!”

And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.”

So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. — Job‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?”

Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause.”

So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life. But stretch out Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your face!”

And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.” — Job‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As we can see in the case of Job, Satan came to stand amongst the other angels in the Court of Heaven and when God brought up Job, Satan defaulted to his job description: accusation. Job was a righteous man and Satan knew it, yet he still accused him. And on top of accusing him, he afflicted him! stole from him!! attacked him!!! And then went back to accuse him AGAIN!!!!

AUDACITY!!!!!

We see another instance in the Book of Zechariah:

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was standing before the angel, clothed with filthy garments. And the angel said to those who were standing before him, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.” And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord was standing by. — ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Satan stood by to accuse the High Priest Joshua because his garments were filthy. But the Lord Himself rebuked the High Priest and commanded his garments to be changed, removing the accusation. The devil will accuse anyone he can. But that is just Satan being Satan. He will do this until Jesus comes back and after until he is finally in the Lake of Fire. Yet in that endeavor, he has a deputy: Jezebel.

JEZEBEL, THE DEPUTY ACCUSER

Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through a window. Then, as Jehu entered at the gate, she said, “Is it peace, Zimri, murderer of your master?” — II Kings‬ ‭9‬:‭30‬-‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jezebel is a master accuser in her own right. And according to Revelation 2:20, she is also a false, self-appointed prophet. (We’ll revisit this later.)

In the above passage from 2 Kings 9, Jezebel is addressing Jehu, yet she calls him by the name of “Zimri.” Zimri was the fifth king of Israel, formerly the commander over half the king’s chariots, who reigned only briefly because he conspired against his master (Elah) and slew him, taking his throne. Yet he only reigned for a total of SEVEN DAYS because Jezebel’s father-in-law, Omri, then the commander of the army, laid siege to the citadel and Zimri committed suicide, burning the royal house down over himself. He was succeeded by Omri as king. (See 1 Kings 16.)

(Don’t let ANYBODY tell you the Bible isn’t fascinating!! 😳😱🍿)

In a nutshell, Jezebel was accusing Jehu of being a conspiratorial murderer and specifically, a king-slayer (regicide). This accusation was a word curse indicating:

  • He was a murderer.

  • He was a usurper.

  • He did not have a righteous claim to the throne.

  • He coveted the throne. (Zimri and Jehu were both military commanders, not of royal blood.)

  • His reign would be short-lived.

  • He would be overthrown.

  • He would die prematurely.

The problem was, Jehu was anointed by proxy at the word of Elisha as the next king of Israel and he was on a holy assignment (2 Kings 9). While Jehu, unfortunately, continued in the sins of Jeroboam, he ascended to the throne on righteous terms in the eyes of God with the blessing of God. In fact, despite his later wickedness, Jehu was the king of Israel with the most generations succeeding him and the longest-reigning dynasty at just shy of 100 years.

And so Jezebel called Jehu “Zimri”…in the very same breath, that Scripture says she painted her eyes when she heard he was on the way. This lets us know that the accusation was a tool of her witchcraft in the same way her attempted sexual seduction was. Jezebel has many tools, but they all fall under one of three operations:

  1. To Sway/Seduce

  2. To Scare

  3. To Slay

Accusation is a combination of both #2 and #3. 1) Accusation is a satanic weapon that kills someone’s name. It’s slander and often includes malicious gossip and bearing false witness which is a method of deception. 2) Accusation also causes intimidation. When Jezebel accused Naboth, he died. More specifically, he was executed according to the righteous Law of Moses, yet under false pretenses. Two or three witnesses accused the vineyard owner falsely on Jezebel’s command, and the accusation caused him to be stoned to death. (See 1 Kings 21.) Perhaps Jezebel thought that when she accused Jehu, her servants would attack him instead of throwing her from the window like the witch she was.

Jezebel is a wicked spirit that will slander and accuse because of their agenda. Whether they come in the name of God, a false god, or themself, Jezebel will ALWAYS point the finger.

JEZEBEL, THE FINGER-POINTER

Jezebel ALWAYS sees a threat. Sometimes those threats are fabricated. Other times, many times, the threats are real—but not as you imagine. The truth is:

Jezebel Is Intimidated.

What you look like, what you have, what you are skilled at, what you carry, what you walk in, what you have authority over, what you have accomplished, who you are connected to…all of these things can intimidate a Jezebel because at their core, they really are insecure and probably suffer with a lot of rejection and low self-esteem. They also don’t trust God.

Jezebel Is Scared.

Jezebel isn’t just intimidated by those who are truly gifted and walk in the true authority of God, etc. Jezebel is scared that if s/he doesn’t expose someone else as Jezebel—true or not—S/HE will be exposed for the Jezebel they certainly are! ESPECIALLY if that person is in their midst. This is one of the reasons Jezebel UTTERLY ABHORS the prophets and frequently pretends to be one (and unfortunately is frequently hosted by people called to be one)—because a true prophet (or apostle) will ALWAYS expose Jezebel in due season. So she accuses you before you can expose them. Also, witches are territorial unless they’re working together, so that is another reason they accuse—to get the other witches off “their” turf.

Jezebel Is ANGRY.

If you are succeeding where Jezebel is not, s/he will accuse you.

If you are succeeding in a way Jezebel is not, s/he will accuse you.

If you have relationships, connections, opportunities, and resources that Jezebel does not, s/he will accuse you.

If you are walking in a jurisdiction or operating with a clearance that Jezebel does not, s/he will accuse you.

If you are up-and-coming or have a bigger platform than Jezebel, s/he will accuse you.

The list goes on. Jezebel has the evil eye. Their eye is literally evil toward you. And they would do anything in their power to deny you ANYTHING they do not want you to have for any reason or no reason at all because they are very angry beings.

So David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved wisely. And Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul’s servants. Now it had happened as they were coming home, when David was returning from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women had come out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with joy, and with musical instruments. So the women sang as they danced, and said:

“Saul has slain his thousands,

And David his ten thousands.”

Then Saul was very angry, and the saying displeased him; and he said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed only thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?” So Saul eyed David from that day forward.” — I Samuel‬ ‭18‬:‭5‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Literally ANYTHING could set Jezebel off. If you don’t give them the praise due them or most often, that they THINK is due them, you become their next target.

After these things King Ahasuerus promoted Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him and set his seat above all the princes who were with him. And all the king’s servants who were within the king’s gate bowed and paid homage to Haman, for so the king had commanded concerning him. But Mordecai would not bow or pay homage. Then the king’s servants who were within the king’s gate said to Mordecai, “Why do you transgress the king’s command?” Now it happened, when they spoke to him daily and he would not listen to them, that they told it to Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s words would stand; for Mordecai had told them that he was a Jew. When Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow or pay him homage, Haman was filled with wrath. But he disdained to lay hands on Mordecai alone, for they had told him of the people of Mordecai. Instead, Haman sought to destroy all the Jews who were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus—the people of Mordecai. — Esther‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Like Haman (proof Jezebels can be men too! 🙃), Jezebel’s anger is TERRIBLE. In fact, it’s not anger, it’s WRATH. And wrath partners with murder. It also speaks to obsession in many instances. (See my next point.) Haman sought to craftily accuse and destroy the entire Jewish population throughout the Medo-Persian Empire simply because one Jew would not bow to him. What possible sense does that make?!

Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom; their laws are different from all other people’s, and they do not keep the king’s laws. Therefore it is not fitting for the king to let them remain. If it pleases the king, let a decree be written that they be destroyed, and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver into the hands of those who do the work, to bring it into the king’s treasuries.”

So the king took his signet ring from his hand and gave it to Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the enemy of the Jews. And the king said to Haman, “The money and the people are given to you, to do with them as seems good to you.”

Then the king’s scribes were called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and a decree was written according to all that Haman commanded—to the king’s satraps, to the governors who were over each province, to the officials of all people, to every province according to its script, and to every people in their language. In the name of King Ahasuerus it was written, and sealed with the king’s signet ring. And the letters were sent by couriers into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all the Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, and to plunder their possessions. — Esther‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Where Jezebel is present, accusation will follow. Anyone who gets out of line with them for any reason—as well as those associated with them—will become the target of their wrath.

Jezebel Is NOT Well.

All of these items bring us to the point that Jezebel is NOT well. I have said for YEARS that someone hosting an intermediate-to-high level spirit of Jezebel is also suffering from a mental illness. The obsession with destruction is NOT normal; it is NOT healthy. However it presents, they are suffering mental torment, otherwise they would not do the things they do. And this is biblical.

And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied inside the house. So David played music with his hand, as at other times; but there was a spear in Saul’s hand. And Saul cast the spear, for he said, “I will pin David to the wall!” But David escaped his presence twice. — I Samuel‬ ‭18‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV

And when the physicians once thought fit to have [Herod the Great] bathed in a vessel full of oil, it was supposed that he was just dying; but upon the lamentable cries of his domestics, he revived; and having no longer the least hopes of recovering, he gave order that every soldier should be paid fifty drachmae; and he also gave a great deal to their commanders, and to his friends, and came again to Jericho, where he grew so choleric, that it brought him to do all things like a madman; and though he were near his death, he contrived the following wicked designs. He commanded that all the principal men of the entire Jewish nation, wheresoever they lived, should be called to him. Accordingly, they were a great number that came, because the whole nation was called, and all men heard of this call, and death was the penalty of such as should despise the epistles that were sent to call them. And now the king was in a wild rage against them all, the innocent as well as those that had afforded ground for accusations; and when they were come, he ordered them to be all shut up in the hyppodrome, and sent for his sister Salome, and her husband Alexas, and spake thus to them: "I shall die in a little time, so great are my pains; which death ought to be cheerfully borne, and to be welcomed by all men; but what principally troubles me is this, that I shall die without being lamented, and without such mourning as men usually expect at a king's death." For that he was not unacquainted with the temper of the Jews, that his death would be a thing very desirable, and exceedingly acceptable to them, because during his lifetime they were ready to revolt from him, and to abuse the donations he had dedicated to God that it therefore was their business to resolve to afford him some alleviation of his great sorrows on this occasion; for that if they do not refuse him their consent in what he desires, he shall have a great mourning at his funeral, and such as never had any king before him; for then the whole nation would mourn from their very soul, which otherwise would be done in sport and mockery only. He desired therefore, that as soon as they see he hath given up the ghost, they shall place soldiers round the hippodrome, while they do not know that he is dead; and that they shall not declare his death to the multitude till this is done, but that they shall give orders to have those that are in custody shot with their darts; and that this slaughter of them all will cause that he shall not miss to rejoice on a double account; that as he is dying, they will make him secure that his will shall be executed in what he charges them to do; and that he shall have the honor of a memorable mourning at his funeral. So he deplored his condition, with tears in his eyes, and obtested them by the kindness due from them, as of his kindred, and by the faith they owed to God, and begged of them that they would not hinder him of this honorable mourning at his funeral. So they promised him not to transgress his commands.

Now any one may easily discover the temper of this man's mind, which not only took pleasure in doing what he had done formerly against his relations, out of the love of life, but by those commands of his which savored of no humanity; since he took care, when he was departing out of this life, that the whole nation should be put into mourning, and indeed made desolate of their dearest kindred, when he gave order that one out of every family should be slain, although they had done nothing that was unjust, or that was against him, nor were they accused of any other crimes; while it is usual for those who have any regard to virtue to lay aside their hatred at such a time, even with respect to those they justly esteemed their enemies. — Antiquities of the Jews, Book XVII, Chapter 6, 5-6

Like Saul, Herod the Great (builder of the Temple) was also mad. His madness seemed to be intertwined with his illness as a judgment from God that increased the closer he came to death’s door. You cannot separate wrath from Jezebel. It may take YEARS to show, but when it does, you cannot unsee or unknow it. It’s there for all to see. And those in close proximity to Jezebel have likely seen it long before the public ever did.

JEZEBEL, THE PROPHET

This is where things can get really muddy without truly employing the gift of discernment. An angry, wounded, unhealed, embittered, resentful, or unforgiving prophet is bound to become a Jezebel. An untrained prophet may become a Jezebel. A prophet with an unsanctioned gift IS a Jezebel. A rebellious prophet is absolutely a Jezebel. A self-appointed prophet is, for sure, a Jezebel. MANY witches and warlocks were originally ordained by God to be prophets. In the words of one of my friends, “Ain’t much difference between a prophet and a witch!” It’s true.

Murder Amongst Brethren

Much of what determines whether one is a prophet or a Jezebel is their motive. Yes, their source of power, but their motive. Motives matter. And if your motives are off, though you began well, you wind up a witch. I could go many directions with this, but suffice to say if you are constantly accusing people, you ARE a Jezebel!

Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” — Acts‬ ‭7‬:‭57‬-‭59‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. — Acts‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The religious leaders of Stephen’s day accused him of blasphemy and stoned him to death because of it. Saul of Tarsus watched over their clothes while they murdered him. And this same Saul took up the mantle of persecution based on false accusations against the Church. What he did, he did in the name of God. The religious leaders of his day praised and funded his satanic campaign. But God had NOTHING to do with it. We know this because when God in the form of Jesus confronted Saul, Saul had no clue who He was!

As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

And he said, “Who are You, Lord?”

Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” — Acts‬ ‭9‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Saul was on an accusatory, obsessive vendetta against the Christians in the name of God, yet it was God Himself who stopped him!

Many of these prophets do works in Jesus’ name. They prophesy, speak in tongues, cast out demons, perform miracles, teach the Word—yet in the same breath, they terrorize their fellow brethren who disagree with them or are different than them. They slander those who take a different stance than them or dare to call them to correction. They call you “brother” or “sister,” ”father” or “mother,” “mentor” or “friend” one moment, and then destroy your name the next.

Did you know that John Calvin and Martin Luther bitterly hated each other, even to the point of damning each other to Hell over what would become denominational disputes? Did you know that John Calvin who understandably railed against the corrupt Catholic Church for its many atrocities including their burning of Protestants actually ordered the burning of a fellow Protestant himself over a doctrinal disagreement? Did you know religious authorities bribed people to bear false witness or forced people to give controlled narratives as witnesses so religious people on both sides of the dispute could be imprisoned and murdered? It’s historical atrocities like this done in the name of God that cause many to hate Christianity today!

And let’s talk more about these “prophets,” shall we? They twist the Word of God to suit their own agendas. They take the Word of Knowledge and use it to expose what God intended to heal or redeem. They take prophecy and use it to release unwarranted judgment when God wants to bring redemption. Like Jonah, they withhold the word because they KNOW God is merciful and they are not. Like the old prophet in 1 Kings 13, they LIE on Holy Spirit, and then turn around and pronounce judgment once you heed them instead of the Lord—and it comes to pass!! They call down fire when all they needed was a conversation or a mere correction. They are wholly unjust to any fellow prophets or ministers who are not useful to them (anymore), who they are jealous of, who they deem in their way, etc. And they are also unjust to those who are wrong or outside of the covenant with God.

When Jezebel Attacks Jezebel

Why does this matter? Because you cannot call someone out in the name of God without representing God. There is a way to cry aloud and spare not against the enemies of God. There is even a way to suffer not a witch to live—yes, in the Year of Our Lord 2023!—that is still righteous. If you call out a witch or false brethren for self-gain, it will be marked against you. If you call out someone false due to your own self-righteousness, it will be a mark against you. If you call out someone false due to your own anger against them—not a righteous indignation—it will be a mark against you. If you call out someone false because you actually want to occupy the seat they sit in, the rooms they’re invited in, and the platforms they stand on, it will be a mark against you.

You’re no better than the real witches (spiritually speaking) who falsely accused non-witches during the days of the Witch Trials simply because they coveted their neighbor’s belongings. ALL of these things WILL pile up and WILL testify in the Courts of Heaven against you. It’s not a question of if. It’s a question of when. Your judgment WILL come. The only thing that could stop or lessen it or even POSSIBLY eradicate it is your TRUE repentance and crying out for God’s mercy.

But here’s the thing about that: the mercy you have doled out to others shall determine what mercy is doled out to you (Matt. 7:2). Have you ever wondered if the Apostle Paul was so often conspired against during his ministry as a harvest due to how he conspired against others before he got saved? The world calls it karma. We call it sowing and reaping. God is NOT mocked: that which a man soweth, he shall also reap (Gal. 6:7).

WHY you expose matters. So if you’re not exposing people because HOLY SPIRIT is leading you to do it, then you are in error and you have taken up the mantle of Satan and Jezebel…even against someone who may already belong to them. Exposing Jezebel from a selfish or wicked place doesn’t make you righteous. Without true repentance, God will condemn you both! Imagine lifting up your eyes in hell right next to the person you condemned to hell in your hatred or jealousy!!

THIS is why prophets and prophetic people MUST continually submit their gift of discernment to Holy Spirit. You MUST be ever seeking His heart and His will over your own. You MUST season your words with grace. Jesus came in grace and truth! He did not forsake the one for the other.

And you may fool some people with your religious pretense and pretext FOR A TIME, but you will NEVER fool God. And He will put His other prophets onto your game long before you think they see you—but they do. They will and they do.

Pretext - a purpose or motive alleged or an appearance assumed in order to cloak the real intention or state of affairs (Merriam-Webster).

I entreat you now to not only cry out for God’s mercy, but to show yourself merciful.

Blessed are the merciful,

For they shall obtain mercy.

Matthew 5:7 NKJV

Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. Luke 6:36 NKJV

With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful;

With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;

With the pure You will show Yourself pure;

And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd.

For You will save the humble people,

But will bring down haughty looks.

Psalm 18:25-27 NKJV

So rend your heart, and not your garments;

Return to the Lord your God,

For He is gracious and merciful,

Slow to anger, and of great kindness;

And He relents from doing harm.

Joel 2:13 NKJV

We simply cannot bank on receiving the mercy, grace, and favour of the Lord if we do not also show it to others.

If you are operating from a place of hurt (and Jezebel ALWAYS does even if it is deeeeep down), then ask Holy Spirit to heal your broken places. He’s more than capable! And more than that, He desires to heal you!

Trust God, trust that He has GOOD plans for YOU, and trust that you WILL see them come to pass in HIS perfect timing.

Spend time with the Lord with no pretense. Don’t pray to check a box or vanquish your enemies. Allow Holy Spirit to guide your prayers because the truth is when you are so used to operating in the spirit of Jezebel, you cannot trust your prayers; they’ve become witchcraft prayers. And IF God answers your prayers for others, it’s because of His mercy to THEM, NOT His approval of your wicked actions. So set aside the warfare, and let Him make you new.

Refrain from ministry until God shifts you. You cannot continue to bleed over and abuse people. Let Him heal you, AND THEN re-release you in HIS timing.

Judgment DOES NOT have to be your portion. You can humble yourself under His mighty hand so He does not have to humble you Himself.

God HATES witchcraft. Yet He loves the people who practice it and desires to see them set free. But it’s your choice.
