Mimicking, Mirroring Women

Mimicking, Mirroring Women

While I know mirroring and mimicry is not something women have a copyright on, it is frequently displayed by women. In romantic relationships, one of the things men need to be deeply discerning about is the women they raise up. What I mean by this is:

  • She wasn’t saved before you, but you led her to Christ. (Allegedly.) #UnequallyYoked

  • She was a baby/carnal Christian before you, but you helped mature and disciple her in Christ. (Allegedly.) #UnequallyYoked

  • She wasn’t in or interested in ministry before you, but now she is and may even be ministering with you. (Allegedly.)

Now I want to be clear: there are times all three of these scenarios are authentic and ordained by God.

If you’ve heard John and Lisa Bevere’s love story, then you know that on their first date (to a church service, I believe), Lisa got saved, filled with the Holy Ghost, and delivered from lactose intolerance! Talk about triple whammy!! And now look at the fruit of that meeting! ♥️

But let’s face it, this is NOT most people. We are not talking about the exception to the rule in this post. We’re talking about the opposite.

There are also men who date and marry women who don’t know Jesus, got saved yesterday, or were introduced to ministry through their man, but truthfully don’t have any hidden or evil intentions. We’re also not talking about these scenarios in this post.

What we are, however, talking about are the women who either study a man from a distance to capture him (Eze. 13:17-18) or fall into connection with him, yet are still sent by the enemy.

These women have and begin to take on a form of godliness that deceives the man of God as well as many people in their lives, his life, and in general. They’ll think she really is saved! Really is filled with the Holy Ghost! Really is divinely sent! Really is on an accelerated learning curve.

BUT IT’S A LIE.

If it seems too good to be true, it’s because it is. Look at this definition of mirroring from Medium.com.

Imitating and mirroring is one of the most common methods narcissists and other emotional manipulators use quite often. Especially at the beginning of the relationship, the narcissist starts analyzing you. Whether it’s a romantic or professional relationship, or even if it’s only a regular friendship; the narcissist carefully examines what you need in a relationship and acts accordingly. If you’re looking for excitement in a romantic relationship, they’re the most adventurous person in the world, if you’re looking for clarity in a friendship, you can’t find someone more honest than them. Thus, they imitate all your wishes and reflect them back to you. By doing this, they make you feel like they have everything you’ve been searching for in a person.

They can imitate not only the things you’re looking for, but also you.... Or, they can imitate the things you like. For example, you like taking walks and so do they, you like a certain song and turns out, that’s their favorite song. At first, you can take this whole thing as you two having common interests but in fact, they’re just absorbing what you have and reflecting them back.

It’s not only your appearance and desires, they can also copy your character and values. Let’s say you’re a polite, honest and just person. They start acting the same. You can look at them and think how wonderful they are. But all those virtuous characteristics you see in them are actually yours. A narcissist is quite good at making everything about themselves. While you’re busy admiring their qualities, what they’re actually doing is holding up a mirror in your face. (Medium.com)

As a man, you think you’re just sharing the vision and desires for your life. You think you’re just washing her with the water of the Word. But what you’re actually doing is giving her the playbook to mirror the ideal partner that you desire. And let’s not forget, one long-suffering tip often given to women is to “allow him to teach you something.” This makes the man feel like a big hero and boosts his ego.

These women, either consciously or unconsciously, are sent on assignment from the Marine Kingdom to seduce you, distract you, so they can ultimately humiliate, drain, and destroy you.

Perhaps they’re after your influence.

Perhaps they’re after your money.

Whatever the reason, they were NOT sent by God, and they will be a detriment to your life and destiny until you take the sword of Jehu and cut off that witch’s head—spiritually speaking, of course—and separate yourself from her fully.

Delilah

Afterward it happened that he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. And the Lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, “Entice him, and find out where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and every one of us will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.”

So Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me where your great strength lies, and with what you may be bound to afflict you.”

And Samson said to her, “If they bind me with seven fresh bowstrings, not yet dried, then I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”

So the Lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven fresh bowstrings, not yet dried, and she bound him with them. Now men were lying in wait, staying with her in the room. And she said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But he broke the bowstrings as a strand of yarn breaks when it touches fire. So the secret of his strength was not known.

Then Delilah said to Samson, “Look, you have mocked me and told me lies. Now, please tell me what you may be bound with.”

So he said to her, “If they bind me securely with new ropes that have never been used, then I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”

Therefore Delilah took new ropes and bound him with them, and said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” And men were lying in wait, staying in the room. But he broke them off his arms like a thread.

Delilah said to Samson, “Until now you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me what you may be bound with.”

And he said to her, “If you weave the seven locks of my head into the web of the loom”—

So she wove it tightly with the batten of the loom, and said to him, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But he awoke from his sleep, and pulled out the batten and the web from the loom.

Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies.” And it came to pass, when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death, that he told her all his heart, and said to her, “No razor has ever come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”

When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the Lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up once more, for he has told me all his heart.” So the Lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hand. Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him. And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him.

Then the Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze fetters, and he became a grinder in the prison. — Judges‬ ‭16:4-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Samson found a counterfeit of rest and comfort with Delilah, yet he didn’t bargain for a woman who would sell his secrets to his destroyers. It was bad enough that he had an affinity for women from an enemy that he was created to destroy. But he had no idea this woman was intentionally in league with the enemy to destroy him for a payoff. For Samson, it was his own lust that destroyed him.

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. — James 1:14 KJV

Jezebel

Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through a window. Then, as Jehu entered at the gate, she said, “Is it peace, Zimri, murderer of your master?”

And he looked up at the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” So two or three eunuchs looked out at him. Then he said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down, and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses; and he trampled her underfoot. And when he had gone in, he ate and drank. Then he said, “Go now, see to this accursed woman, and bury her, for she was a king’s daughter.” So they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.” ‭‭— II Kings‬ ‭9:30-35‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When Jehu came to the recently widowed Jezebel’s palace, she was beating her face (applying makeup) for the express purpose of seducing him. This would have been for a few reasons.

First and most obviously, she didn’t want to die. Which, thankfully, she did.

Second, with her husband dead, if Jezebel wanted to maintain her control over the nation, it would behoove her to make a swift and advantageous marriage. Jehu was the perfect choice since he was the Lord’s anointed to be the next king of Israel.

Third, most queens throughout the ancient world were not sovereigns, but consorts; royal partners, but not the rulers themselves. Knowing this, if Jehu had utilized carnal means to get the throne, the easiest way to attain his end goal would have been to just marry Jezebel.

These are no Ruths and Rahabs. These are deceitful, wicked women with very specific missions in mind. These are women who knowingly or unknowingly come to hunt men’s souls.

Women Who Hunt Men’s Souls

“Likewise, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy out of their own heart; prophesy against them, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Woe to the women who sew magic charms on their sleeves and make veils for the heads of people of every height to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of My people, and keep yourselves alive? And will you profane Me among My people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, killing people who should not die, and keeping people alive who should not live, by your lying to My people who listen to lies?”

‘Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against your magic charms by which you hunt souls there like birds. I will tear them from your arms, and let the souls go, the souls you hunt like birds. I will also tear off your veils and deliver My people out of your hand, and they shall no longer be as prey in your hand. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.

“Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life. Therefore you shall no longer envision futility nor practice divination; for I will deliver My people out of your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”’” — Ezekiel 13:17-23

What stood out to me about this passage when reading it this time around was this line: “Woe to the women who…make veils for the heads of people of every height to hunt souls!” In my brand new eBook, The Little Book of Prayer, I have a prayer against cloaking spirits. There are people who cloak or veil themselves so you cannot see who and what they truly are in the spirit. There are also people who cloak or veil YOU so your vision is obscured in the realm of the spirit regarding a particular person or in general.

A veil will have you thinking that Rachel is Leah, and Leah is Rachel.

A veil will have you thinking that Esau is Jacob, and Jacob is Esau.

A veil will have you thinking that Ahithophel and Judas are your friends and trusted counselors.

A veil will have you thinking that the sons of God are the enemies of God, and the enemies of God are the sons of God.

WE NEED TO SEE CLEARLY.

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints… — Ephesians 1:17-18

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

Because He has anointed Me

To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives

And recovery of sight to the blind,

To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

— Luke 4:18-19
