The Jezebel Effect: What No One Tells You
If you’re familiar with my blog then you know we’ve already discussed the Jezebel spirit on numerous occasions. You also know that in my Exploring Jezebel Series, we’ve discussed the Eunuch Spirit (Parts I, II, and III). However, I’d like to further breakdown the effects of the Eunuch spirit which Jezebel causes.
We know that according to II Kings 9:30-37, Jezebel makes eunuchs. And we also know that according to Revelation 2:20-23, Jezebel also makes children. I believe that eunuchs are one type or expression of the spirit-children that Jezebel creates.
What Is a Eunuch?
What is eunuch? In the natural sense, a eunuch has his ability to reproduce cut off; they’ve been castrated. In a sexual sense, a eunuch is a man - like the qadesh (qedeshim plural) a.k.a. perverted persons in the Old Testament - who chooses to dress in drag, live as a transsexual “woman,” and even have surgery to become a transgender “woman.” This obviously cuts off the man’s ability to reproduce through choice. However, in the spiritual sense, a eunuch is an individual who has their creative abilities and life potential in terms of gifting, talent, and anointing cut off.
The Making of Spiritual Eunuchs
Let’s take a look at Revelation 2.
Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. (Revelation 2:20-23)
Now as we see here, Jezebel makes children through her actions and ideologies: sexual seduction and spiritual seduction. To sum it up, Jezebel is a seducing spirit. And this seduction comes in the form of manipulation, intimidation, and domination. Now, place this into a church setting.
You sit under a pastor who controls you. They keep you from learning from anyone who isn’t them or isn’t in agreement with their church. You can’t read their books, visit their churches, listen to their sermons, or subscribe to their podcasts. Your gifts are what they tell you your gifts are (or aren’t) - which may or may not be correct - and they will keep you from growing in your gifts as you should; they place a cap on you. And don’t you dare be prophetic! That’s one of the worst offenses of all in a Jezebelic church. Unless you drink from the same tainted fount as the leaders, you are either 1) told you are not prophetic or 2) told that you will never prophesy greater than your leader(s). But let’s talk some more about your giftings.
Using Your Gifts Against You
Part of this manipulation can actually be praise. “You’re so talented!” “Your gift is so wonderful!” “You sing/play so well!” “Your gift will always be blessed...while you remain under my covering.”
Heard anything like that before?
Your gift is used as a manipulation tactic against your spiritual growth. You become as the eunuch in Isaiah 56:3 said, a “dry tree.” You look the part; you appear healthy, yet you produce no [lasting] fruit. However, the problem here is not your capability to produce, it is, rather, your inability to produce due to your spiritual authority.
You don’t produce to your full capacity because they tell you you’re A M A Z I N G just the way you are.
You don’t produce to your full capacity because they tell you think you’re already at it.
In short, you think more of yourself than you ought to. Not because you aren’t, in fact, amazingly talented or have the capacity to be, but rather because your spiritual leadership has so inflated your current position the process that you overestimate your current state.
Controlling Your Mind, Stunting Your Growth
The other side of this dry-tree-business, is that you can’t produce as you should because you can’t think for yourself like a mature individual should. You’re so used to having someone else think for you that when you have to face an important decision by yourself, it’s more difficult than it should be because you have so trained yourself to rely on your spiritual leadership’s judgment.
You don’t produce to your full capacity because they tell you you’re not ready yet. Remember, they know what’s best for you.
Husbands and wives have their marriages subverted by their pastoral leadership.
Men cannot decision-make as they should, they cannot lead as they should, because they are so used to being led themselves.
You don’t need to pray about how often to brush your teeth, and you don’t need to ask your pastor’s permission to shower.
Biblical Leadership
The Bible and the leadership promoted by the Bible is not one that thinks for people. God is fair; perhaps not in a way that we understand, yet He allows all of us free choice. Our love for Him is based upon whether we obey Him, yet that is still our choice that we are daily free to make. Consider the below passage the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy:
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (I Timothy 2:12 KJV)
This is a highly misunderstood and thus, misused passage of Scripture that has been traditionally, historically, widely, and most unfortunately, still presently used to keep women from ministering to or pastoring men or from “pulpit” ministry in general. Shortly put, Timothy didn’t have a female problem, he had an authority problem. To put it even more specifically, he had a Jezebel problem that was manifesting in the females at Timothy’s Ephesian church. Consider some of these commentary passages.
Vincent’s Word Studies
N.T.o. olxx, oClass. It occurs in late ecclesiastical writers. The kindred noun αὐθέντης one who does a thing with his own hand, Wisd. 12:6, and also in Herodotus, Euripides, and Thucydides. Ἁυθεντία right, 3 Macc. 2:29. The verb means to do a thing one's self; hence, to exercise authority. The A.V. usurp authority is a mistake. Rend. to have or exercise dominion over.
Jamieson-Faussett-Brown Bible Commentary
usurp authority—"to lord it over the man" [Alford], literally, "to be an autocrat."
The problem here is autocracy; the usurping of authority. Let’s define these key words:
Autocracy - government in which one person possesses unlimited power; a form of government in which a country is ruled by a person or group with total power; a country that is ruled by a person or group with total power.
Usurp - to seize and hold (office, place, functions, powers, etc.) in possession by force or without right usurp a throne; to take or make use of without right; to take the place of by or as if by force; supplant; to seize or exercise authority or possession wrongfully.
In Acts 19, we see a riot ensuing in Ephesus. The mob is yelling “Great is Diana of the Ephesians!” over and over and over again. Ephesus, like Thyatira in Revelation 2, was one of the seats of the Roman goddess, Diana (Artemis in Greek mythology). And what do we find in Thyatira, “that woman Jezebel” weaseling her way into church leadership, and corrupting the congregation. THIS was Timothy’s congregational problem.
NO ONE should usurp authority.
NO ONE should undermine or seek to supplant godly authority.
NO ONE should utilize God’s holy pulpit to control God’s people and those would would be His.
When Jezebel is allowed access to a pulpit or platform of any kind, she makes children and, among other things, corrupts their God-given potential.
It’s time to break the yoke of Jezebel!
Breaking Jezebel’s Yoke
In II Kings 9:30-37 we see the violent death of Jezebel, as foretold by the Prophet Elijah. And how did Jezebel meet her death? In a most poetic way: at the hands of her own eunuchs.
Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through a window. Then, as Jehu entered at the gate, she said, “Is it peace, Zimri, murderer of your master?”
And he looked up at the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” So two or three eunuchs looked out at him. Then he said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down, and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses; and he trampled her underfoot. (II Kings 9:30-33)
There is no telling the abuse those eunuch suffered at the hands of that royal priestess. But just as historically, male eunuchs are castrated when they serve in the presence of a royal female, so far too many have been spiritually castrated in the presence of those who refuse to allow them to reproduce spiritual fruit.

If you recognize that you are under a Jezebelic leadership (i.e. pastor, mentor, etc.) or that your past controlling experience is still controlling you, it’s time to get the possessed monkey off your back!
If you are under controlling leadership of any kind (I am NOT speaking to wives/children about their husbands/fathers), it’s time to leave. AS.SOON.AS.POSSIBLE. Leave RESPECTFULLY, no matter how disrespectfully they may have treated you.
Give yourself some detoxing time if you need it.
Get “delivert!” For real!
If this has been a relationship that’s been going on for years, you may need some counselling from a Spirit-filled counsellor. Go forth and be healthy, body, spirit, AND mind (soul)!
Do not wind up in a church that is controlling or its opposite: a church that let’s you do whatever you like “in the name of Jesus.” Both are equally sinful and spiritually detrimental.
And start trusting God to lead you and, if necessary, to give your common sense so you can make everyday decisions for yourself.
Trust Him to lead you to GODLY leadership who will GUIDE you instead of MANIPULATING you. Someone who will teach you to follow them as they follow Christ. Someone who will travail until Christ be formed in you, and not their own tainted spirit. Someone who will be able to call out, draw out, and train you in your giftings.
God is MORE than able to do all of this and so much more, and do it for YOU.
