I’m Gay and Proud!!!!

I’m Gay and Proud!!!!

Yes, you read that correctly. I’m gay. So please tell me how wonderfully courageous I am for coming “out” and letting you in on this big secret. Please tell me how wonderful it is that I’ve finally accepted myself. Now accept me. And don’t just accept me, don’t just tolerate me, but you MUST celebrate me. Yes!! Take out those rainbow coloured streamers, sparkly confetti, and show me those spirit fingers as you shout your undying support of me.

WHAT.ON.EARTH. have we come to in America (or whatever country you live in) when this is the norm? (Excuse me. The projected "norm.") When this is how we treat these situations? I’ll tell you. We’ve come to an extremely godless place, devoid of Truth and righteousness, with darkened, depraved minds.

As I’m sure you now understand (and hopefully forever will), I am not now, nor have I have I ever been, nor will I ever be in the blessed name of Jesus gay.

And before you call me a basher, bigot, or another b-word I won’t spell out here, please understand that I have nothing against gay people, rainbows (God created them!), streamers, confetti, and I love a good set of spirit fingers and jazz hands just for good measure. (How can I not, I’m an avowed, unabashed choir nerd!)

However, what I hate, loathe, and despise is this sick godless mindset of liberals and even those who may not be liberal, yet lack simple Biblical understanding.

Ignorance is NOT of God.

Since when do we celebrate people for embracing and “owning” their brokenness?

When someone gets their leg broken, we take them to the doctor.

When someone is diagnosed with a mental illness, we take them to a psychiatrist (psychologist?) or cast the devil out of them, depending on our belief system.

When someone is born with or develops a disease, we take them to the hospital to get treated.

And when someone molests, rapes, abuses, or murders and adult or child, we put their tails in jail.

Whether physical, emotional, or mental, when something is broken, we don’t celebrate it, we fix it. So why do we celebrate homosexuality? Bisexuality? Panssexuality? Polygamy? Polyamority? It’s because our society as well as the people involved in these acts are broken.

And just in case you think I’m singling homosexuals out or making it out to be the unpardonable sin (and it most certainly is not), let’s switch the the broader, pervading issue: SIN.

Yes, I said it. Homosexuality and any sexual behaviour outside of God’s confines--marriage between one man and one woman--is sin.

And so is fornication.

Lying.

Embezzling.

Drunkenness.

And even saying nothing when we hear or see or know that wrong is being done. All are sin.

All are displeasing to God and thus, create a barrier between ourselves and Him.

The Apostle Paul said:

...For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God... (Romans 3:23)

There you have it. However “big” or “small” our sin is, it is the same in God’s eyes. It all keeps us from Him. Not from His love, of course. Nothing can separate us from that. However, we are separated from His presence, from His voice.

God doesn’t rejoice in our choice to sin. He grieves it. And the Word tells us specifically to not grieve the Holy Spirit. In fact, EVERY TIME we sin, it’s like we nail Jesus to the cross all over again. Can you imagine being crucified?? Now imagine that feeling multiple times a day. Now multiply that by the amount of people in the world. Now, you’re able to have an inkling of an imagined idea of what Jesus must feel every time we sin.

Again, God knows that through our sin, we CHOOSE to separate ourselves from Him in this life and--whether or not you believe in the afterlife--in the next as well.

Make no mistake. The wages of sin IS death. But God offers us an alternative.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

Jesus said it a different way.

The thief (Satan) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 emphasis mine)

If we allow ourselves to be swindled by the Ultimate Sinner and Thief, Satan--the accuser of the brethren--then we enable his ability to steal, kill, and destroy in our life. Living a life of sin, is exactly that.

And please don’t get this twisted.

Just because you may FEEL like you’re successful, runnin “thangs,” or “sittin’ on top of the world” as Brandy once sang, it’s all a ruse. It’s a pretty cage to keep you in because if you die in that unrepentant state, it’s all over.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36)

No do-overs. No reincarnation. Just the most excruciatingly painful living death you could ever imagine for all eternity. Is that really what you want?

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment… (Hebrews 9:27)

You can say you don’t believe in God or Satan, Heaven or Hell, or right or wrong, but is that really a chance you want to take?

If I were a betting woman, and I’m not thanks to my betting games in high school French class and the crazed, screaming monster it turned me into, I wouldn’t even take that chance. I really wouldn’t.

Jesus quoted the Prophet Isaiah stating,

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18, 19; Isaiah 61:1-2)

This is a declaration of victory over the enemy in our lives if we will accept it. According to 1 John 3:8, Jesus came to destroy the works of the enemy.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

It was the very reason He put on our earthly flesh and dwelt among us (see John 1). However, after the victory is declared, captives must still be set free. As you can see in Isaiah/Luke, Jesus came to heal EVERY area of your life, to mend the brokenness in EVERY area of your life. So if you’re broken in your sexuality or the way you express it, He can heal that. If you’re broken in your mind and emotions, He can fix it. If you broke, busted, and disgusted, that’s not an issue for Him. And even if you feel you are the vilest of sinners, that is the greatest sign that you are ripe for healing because you know it! Bonus points if you admit it out loud! *smile*

So if you’re a sinner (and we all are, trust me), tell Jesus! In the words of my best friend and me, “He knows ALL about it!” You can’t tell Him anything He doesn’t already know! He just wants you to ask for help!

So what are you waiting for??

God and the Body of Christ may not celebrate your brokenness, but we and all of Heaven will rejoice when you turn to God and ask Him to save you!
