Break the Spell, Reprogram Your Life
I’m sitting here watching Doctor Strange (per my recent leisure commitment to watch all the Marvel movies in chronological order) and the Ancient One’s words to Doctor Strange jumped out at me.
“The language of the mystic arts is as old as civilization. The sorcerers of antiquity called the use of this language ‘spells.’ But if that word offends your modern sensibilities, you can call it a program. The source code that shapes reality.”

Spell = Program
A spell is a program, a “source code that shapes reality.”
WOW.
Who Run the World?
While as Believers in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Father, the Living Word, and the Anointed One, we do not subscribe to witchcraft, magick, or sorcery in any form. And along with that, we also acknowledge the very real powers of darkness that utilize these Occultic methods to release spells, curses, hexes, judgments, and the like against people saved and unsaved.
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience…” — Ephesians 2:1-2 NKJV
“And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” — 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 ESV
“I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.” — John 14:30 NKJV
Here we see that Lucifer is identified as the “prince of the power of the air” and the “god” or “ruler of this world.” This means that the powers of the second heaven on down are under the domain of the fallen prince, and that the courses and systems of this world are allowed to be set or “programmed” by the pretended god of this world. Here’s the breakdown of hierarchy.
Aerial Kingdom (Second Heaven) 🌙
1. Prince of the Power of the Air (Lucifer)

3. Powers
4. Spirits of the Age
5. Hosts of Wickedness in High Places
Terrestrial Kingdom (Earth) 🌎
1. “God”/Ruler of this World (Lucifer)
2. Strongmen
3. Demonic Hosts
4. Witches/Warlocks/Wizards, etc.
We understand that it is witches and others who dabble knowingly and unknowingly in the Occultic arts to loose these spells on people. Even spells wrought by white witches (“lightworkers”) come with demonic repercussions because, as Mr. Gold a.k.a. Rumple(stiltskin) from Once Upon a Time reminds us, “Magic always comes with a price.” To unrepentantly dabble in witchcraft is to bind at least the next three or four generations to a curse.
“And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, ‘The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.’”
— Exodus 34:6-7 NKJV
These spells program the lives of people—including God’s people who are either unknowingly targeted (through generational curses or ignorance), ignorant of their authority, or operating in sin—to be contained, subdued, imprisoned, robbed, harassed, molested, afflicted, tormented, depressed, repressed, suppressed, oppressed, and even possessed by the powers of darkness. Even Jesus acknowledged the powers of darkness.
“Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns.” — Luke 22:53 NIV
And then if that is not plain enough, we have the stark contrast between the purpose of the prince and the purpose of the King of Kings.
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
— John 10:10 NKJV
Stealing, killing, and destroying is how the enemy has programmed your life. He has a book that leads to death for your life and prophesies according to that text. Oh, but Heaven has a Book of Life and when we understand our authority as sons of God, we can reprogram our lives according to the Living Word!
God has given you the power to reprogram your life according to His Word and His authority and His power that worketh in YOU!
Unauthorized Programs
When the enemy programs your life by witchcraft and the powers of witchcraft, he does so illegally. Remember, power without authority is illegitimate. Therefore, while a human being may have given over their power or given into dark power, that programming was illegal because it was not authorized by the Head of all created powers: Christ. And because He created them, He can disarm and destroy them. He can rewrite the program.
“…having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” — Colossians 2:14-15 NKJV
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” — I John 3:8 NKJV
If the enemy has programmed your life, simply reprogram it right back! Heaven is on YOUR side! And we don’t need rudimentary spells, rituals, or herbs. We simply need the Word, the Spirit, and the leading of God.
You may have been created a little lower than the angels, but any angel who left their former estate and thus, position in Heaven, abandoned their authority (Jude 6). And since “the Son of God became a man to enable men to become sons of God,” we are now seated above the angels since we are seated in Christ in heavenly places at the right hand of the Father (Eph. 2:6)!
