We are continuing with the second installment of Descendants of the Fallen, a story that I will not explain, but that you will begin to understand as each segment is posted. This weeks’ installment is the Prologue of the text. I hope you enjoy it! Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think?

PROLOGUE

I have lived many ages, I have seen many things. I have seen the dawn of man and the things of Heaven manifested on the earth. I have seen sparsely populated regions turn into teeming communities of men. I have seen the hearts of man strive for what our Father Adam had in the Garden. I have seen men set off in search of Eden to meet with God and to steal that which belongs to Him alone.

I have also seen men who once dwelt in divine reverence forsake the God of their fathers and turn to profanity; I have seen that which was holy become common. I have seen the arrogance of man bring men low to baseness. I have seen the wisdom of the heavenly perverted and merchandised among the fell peoples of the earth. I have seen the sanctity of worship turn to corruption. From the very beginning, even before the beginning of man, made in the image and likeness of God, he has recognized the invisible attributes of Elohim throughout creation.

We are without excuse.

We who knew God chose to no longer thank Him, no longer glorify Him, and we became vain in our imaginations. The very purity of our hearts became darkened by foolishness.  We thought we had attained wisdom, we thought we were as Elohim, and we were. Yet we waxed foolish in our wisdom and stole the glory that belongs only to God and attributed it to ourselves. Instead of reverencing the Most High, we directed our worship to those sons of God who chose to dwell among us. And so, He gave us up to uncleanness through the lusts of our hearts, and we dishonoured and sold our bodies. And we exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creation more than the Creator who is blessed forever, amen. And so, God gave us up to the fullness of our foul affections and we became vile on the face of the earth.

My brothers and I have fought to maintain the worship of the Most High. Many are sleeping and lying in well-earned peace. Yet far more are sleeping while they walk. They have fallen into discouragement or disgrace. I and my sons alone are left. The fear of what will come upon us is more than I can bear.

Great God, show us your mercy! We are undeserving! We are vile and we are weak. But for the sake of the righteous and the sake of Your word, preserve us in peace and extend the line of my sons to fulfill Your covenant with our father, Adam! I ask not for myself, but for my sons and for my daughters, and for all who would seek Your face and turn on the great wickedness of the earth. Preserve us, O God! And make Your salvation known among us! And we shall tell of Your mighty works to the generations to come. In the matchless name of the Most High! - NOAH
