Y’all know what time it is!
That’s right! It’s time for the Word of the Lord for 2017 from the prophets.
We Need a Word from the Lord
Boy, I tell you, I don’t know how people live without the prophetic! I can’t do it. The Bible says:
Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint… (Proverbs 29:18 ESV)
A whole lotta people are casting off restraint in various ways - and dying as other translations say - due to the fact that they have no prophetic revelation. The Bible also says,
...the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do… (I Chronicles 12:32)
This description of the sons of Issachar is actually stating their war strength. Their military specialty was that they understood the times and the seasons. And as believers who entered the greatest war of all from the moment we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, it behooves us greatly to understand the times and seasons of the plans and movements of the Spirit of the Lord. And in keeping with this…
The Prophet Amos stated,
“Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7)
The Lord has plans, and the Lord also knows the plans of the enemy. Therefore, we need to understand what those plans are so that we may govern ourselves accordingly. And if we can’t hear God for ourselves for whatever reason - and even if we can - we need to get around others who can hear what He is saying. So in that spirit, below is the plan of the Lord for 2017 as stated by my beloved spiritual father, Apostle Guillermo Maldonado, at his Watch Night (New Year’s Eve) Service. Enjoy!
1) Megacycle
2017 is the beginning of a new cycle. We're entering the greatest cycle of time ordained by God: the Megacycle. Apostle Renny McLean preached on the Megacycle at CAP 2016. You may hear a clip from his sermon below.
In Acts 10, Cornelius the Italian centurion experienced his own megacycle as you can read below.
There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always. About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!”
And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?”
So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. (Acts 10:1-5)
The concept of filling bowls, bottles, and vials is scriptural. The Lord waited for the iniquity of the Amorites to be filled in Genesis 15:16. In Psalm 56:8, David tells us that the Lord bottles our tears. And as we know the Book of Revelation is full of bowls of judgement being poured out on the people as a recompense for their wickedness. So it should not surprise us that the Lord also bottles our prayers and our giving. And when the Lord sent Peter to Cornelius, the Italian’s bowl was overturned on his happy head with the demonstration of the promise of the outpouring of the Spirit on the Gentiles.
Many of you, like me, have been praying, tithing, giving, serving, and living right (and repenting when you don’t), but you feel that your megacyle - your blessing that you don’t have room enough to receive - hasn’t come yet. That is true for many of us. But be encouraged! The Lord is about to overturn the bowl of your prayers, tithes, offerings, holiness, and servitude over your head and cause you to enter into your megacycle!
2) The Year of “Re”
2017 is the year of restoration, restitution, and repossession. Dictionary.com describes “re” as “a prefix, occurring originally in loanwords from Latin, used with the meaning ‘again’ or ‘again and again’ to indicate repetition, or with themeaning ‘back’ or ‘backward’ to indicate withdrawal or backwardmotion...” In short, God is going to give back E V E R Y T H I N G that the devil stole from you.
This concept is in keeping with the Jubilee cycle according to the Jewish calendar.
“In this Year of Jubilee, each of you shall return to his possession.” (Leviticus 25:13, see full passage here)
And this concept of “re” is found elsewhere in Scripture too.
So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. (Joel 2:25)
“If a man delivers to his neighbor money or articles to keep, and it is stolen out of the man’s house, if the thief is found, he shall pay double.” (Exodus 22:7)
People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; He may have to give up all the substance of his house. (Proverbs 6:30-31)
So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” … So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all. (I Samuel 30:8, 18-19)
3) Acceleration
2017 will be a year of acceleration because there is no time in the middle; no more delay. (See #1.) God is speeding things up because the time is short and this is an End Time scriptural concept.
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, And the treader of grapes him who sows seed; The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, And all the hills shall flow with it.” (Amos 9:13)
Word of Wisdom
You cannot enter into your new season if you do not change your heart.
If you’re holding on to unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, jealousy, envy, fornication, adultery, pornography, drunkenness, gluttony, not tithing or giving - any sin, you’re not going to enter into the new season the Lord has for you; 2017 will not be your year. All the promises of God are yea [yes] and amen, yet we must ask God to clean us and give us new hearts.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10)
Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. (Psalm 24:3-5)
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26)
The Word of the Lord is already blessed. Now it’s up to us whether or not we will choose to walk in the blessing of the Lord for 2017!
