Unity, Pentecost, and the Coming Revival

Unity, Pentecost, and the Coming Revival

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said,“you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:4-8)
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:1-4)

Revival is Coming!

Ladies and gentlemen, revival is coming. If you don’t know it, you’re either it just hasn’t hit your local church yet or you’re at the wrong church! In His Word, God left us many promises. One of those promises, made through the Person of Christ, is the coming of the Holy Spirit.

For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call. (Acts 2:39)

We are those who are afar off, whom the Lord has called. We are those who have been grafted into the vine of Abraham (Romans 11) and who will come to sit at his table along with “Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 8:11). We have prayed to the Lord of the Harvest and asked for the nations as our inheritance and He has answered us (Matthew 9:38, Psalm 2:8). Yes, the promise is coming and is here! The air is thick with it. The very earth is crying out for the manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:19)! But something is missing. And that something is unity.

One Thing You Lack

The promises of God may be “yea and amen,” but they are also almost always conditional.

IF My people...will humble themselves and pray... THEN I will hear from heaven...and heal their land. (II Chronicles 7:14)

There’s no way around it. Jesus commanded His faithful to stay in Jerusalem and wait for the manifestation of the promise. He didn’t give them a time frame, He just said it would be “not many days from now.” Yet many of you recall that one day with the Lord is as 1,000 and 1,000 days is like one (II Peter 3:8). They had no indication of the timing because 1) that information belonged to the Father alone and 2) because leaving the people without a time frame truly revealed the most faithful and obedient among them.
