5 Demonic Counterfeits of Christian Truths

5 Demonic Counterfeits of Christian Truths

This post is a continuation an older one, 5 Practices New Agers Hijacked from Christianity, so if you like this topic, definitely check that one out as well! If you are a student of spiritual warfare and are also, to an extent, familiar with practices of the Occult, New Age, and other pagan beliefs, then you’ll begin to recognize that that there are several similarities.

But why is this?? Glad you asked. *smile*

Spiritual Laws are neutral, meaning they work for both good and evil, godly and ungodly reasons. This is likely a huge part of the reason why God via the Apostle Paul states that the gifts He gives are irrevocable or “without repentance” (KJV) according to Romans 11:29.

John Paul Jackson is probably the most foremost minister and prophet who teaches on this subject regularly and also ministers to these individuals as well. But let’s dig into identifying some major counterfeits!

The UNholy Trinity

1) The Triple Goddess

I was interviewing Apostle Pam Vinnette back in February and, as usual with our chats, we went on several, wonderful, revelatory rabbit trails. On one of these rabbit trails (unfortunately, I can’t remember what she’d said that triggered this), but God, showed me that the Triple Goddess presented in Druidry and Wicca (which stems from Druidry) is a counterfeit of THE Divine Trinity. Here’s the breakdown:

Trinity:

  1. God the Father
  2. God the Son (Jesus)
  3. God the Holy Spirit (Teacher, Wisdom)

Triple Goddess:

  1. The Maiden Goddess (Virgin)
  2. The Mother Goddess
  3. The Crone Goddess (Old Woman, Wisdom)

Both are worshipped as three-in-one. Both have “equal” counterparts referring to position (i.e. The Father and the Maiden, etc.). But only the Father, the Son, and the Spirit are real. This Triple Goddess, either one or three, is nothing more than a demonic spirit(s) parading as this abominable goddess.

2) Manifesting

This is very big in New Age. You hear lots of people like Marie Forleo (whom I LOVE, but have to shut off every time she starts preaching about her off New Age beliefs), Danielle LaPorte, and others pratting about it teaching you how the “manifest” what you want in life. Basically, it’s the New Age “Name It and Claim It.”

However, in Christianity, manifesting, typically refers to demons surfacing in people.

Example 1: The child began to manifest and spin around, upside down, on his finger. (True story!)

Example 2: The man began to manifest and started yelling and throwing people around the room.

Example 3: The woman started manifesting and throwing up on the floor.

You get the idea. However, manifesting isn’t always a bad thing in godly terms. Manifesting can also refer to the Kingdom of God being made manifest in your life in ways such as:

  • Healings

  • Signs

  • Wonders

  • Miracles (i.e. creative/physical, financial, etc.)

However, the key difference between the pagan terminology and the Christian is Jesus. Jesus gives us “keys” to manifest HIS power by HIS will through us. New Agers remove Jesus altogether from the equation and go after soulish (emotional) desires, even if they may seem to be good desires.

Here are GODLY ways to manifest:

  1. Pray: Jesus said pray [God’s] Kingdom come, [God’s] will be done, on earth as it is in heaven in Matthew 6:9-13. He also encourages prayer agreement (Matthew 18:20).

  2. Name of Jesus: The name of Jesus is the seal of our authority in prayer, it is our right to accessing the things of God. (See John 15:16)

  3. Declare & Decree: Just like Abraham, the Father of Faith, we too are to speak things and cause them to come to past according to our faith. (Romans 4:17)

  4. Bind & Loose: Jesus teaches us to bind or declare illegal (prohibit) the works of Satan, while we are to loose or declare legal (permit) the works of God through prayer, decrees (written), and declarations (spoken). (Matthew 16:19, 18:18)

3) Prophets & Prophecy

This is not a gift or a realm relegated to God’s prophets alone. Remember, Balaam was a false prophet, killed as a soothsayer (Joshua 13:22), yet we quote his accurate prophecy “God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent…” all day long. The mark of a godly prophet is not whether they are accurate or not, it is their motive for prophesying in the first place.

Robin Harfouche has a harrowing tale of how she was anointed and appointed, by the devil, to become a prophet of the New Age like the actress Shirley Maclaine is. Thankfully, God also had his hand on Robin’s life and now she is an apostle for the Kingdom of God! Yet her tale shows us that the gifts and callings of God truly are without repentance.

4) Spiritual Inheritances

Robin Harfouche is also an example of generational gifts on both sides of the spiritual realm. One side of the family had a history of witchcraft and at the age of four, she knew she’d been gifted with what her mother called “the veil” (ESP, third eye), Her great-grandmother, a witch, prayed that a child would be born into the family with the gifting. It was a spiritual inheritance.

Yet on the other side of her family were Pentecostal Christians! She was the result of two praying grandmothers: one praying to God, and one praying to Satan.

Generational inheritances are not just in terms of blessings and curses; they are gifts as well. Just like you look at preachers like Marvin Winans or Perry Stone and see three and four, etc. generations of preachers, you can also look at those in the Occult or other Pagan practices and see those spiritual gifts passed down to them as well (i.e. prophecy, ESP, witchcraft, false healings, etc.). The Apostle Paul’s protégé, Timothy, and the boxer, Earthquake Kelley, are more examples of spiritual inheritances.

5) High Holy Days

I speak about this in a recent post about refusing to celebrate May Day, however, suffice it to say that just like God has holy days such as the eight Feats of God, so does Satan have high days such as Beltane (May Day), Samhain (Halloween), and Black Sabbaths (Easter). And just as spiritual activity is higher on the Feast days (just check the Scripture!), so is the demonic spiritual activity higher on Satan’s high days.

Stonehenge, likely an age-old Celtic/Druid place of worship, still utilized today.

6) Portals/Vortexes

I also speak of this in the May Day post, but know this: just as certain places such as Bethel where Jacob saw the Ladder to Heaven where divine angelic activity is usually high, there are also places, such as the Gates of Hell that Jesus said would not prevail against the Church (Matthew 16:18), where demonic activity is usually higher. John Paul Jackson and Perry Stone both teach on this subject.

Think of it this way: just as the “seat of authority” in a nation is the center of power, so are these portals and vortexes “seats” of spiritual power. Some other examples include Jerusalem (good), Pergamos (bad), Thyatira and Ephesus (major demonic strongholds of the goddess Diana), the Bermuda Triangle, and Babylon, the seat of all utter wickedness since before time began.

Portals/Vortexes, I believe, also include times or watches of the day. There’s a reason they call midnight to 3am the “witching hour,” magic is said to be most effective during this time frame. Similarly, prayer against demonic plans is also extremely effective during this time and serves as a testament to why God gives his children intercessory dreams and often wakes them up to intercede during this time frame. Also, 3am to 6am is said to be the most effective time to command angels (and by commanding angels, I mean, praying the Word to God to release His angels since they respond the voice of His Word, not our word itself) and “command our mornings.” For more about Prayer Watches, check out this video by Pastor ChiChi Bismark!

7) Hilltops & Mountaintops

This is not something we focus on too much in Christianity, but if you check your Bible, you’ll recognize that they do play a major role in certain of the portal locations mentioned in Scripture.

Example: Jerusalem is located on a “hill.” It is also the same mountain (Mount Moriah) upon which Abraham offered his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice, but the Lord stayed his hand. Definitely a type and shadow.

Similarly, hilltops and trees are traditionally where pagans, those who pull from the natural elements, gather to worship their false gods. Just take a look at Glastonbury in Britain, this is the traditional location of Avalon made so famous by the Arthurian Legend.

The "silver cord" Solomon references in Ecclesiastes 12:6 that attaches the physical body to the astral or spirit body. In biblical and ancient belief, the cord is severed at death unless God says otherwise for [short] time.

8) Astral Projection/Out of Body Experiences

I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven. And I know such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows—how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
— II Corinthians 12:2-4
The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.
— Ezekiel 37:1
So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
— Revelation 17:3
And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, ‘Come over to Macedonia and help us.’ Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.
— Acts 16:9, 10

Quite obviously, the Lord using our spirit or taking us in the Spirit whilst leaving our bodies behind is a frequent occurrence in the Bible. And this doesn’t even include being raptured or translated like Philip was in the Book of Acts. However, this is something also regularly employed by Satan.

Shirley Maclaine gives a real-life account of this. If you read the Mists of Avalon (fiction, yes I know, but the concept is very real), Arthur’s mother, Igraine, has an out-of-body experience in which she sends her spirit to warn her future husband, Uther, about her current husband Gorlois’ surprise attack. Also, just take a look at those who practice witchcraft or have for a long time. Their very bodies bear the marks of expedited aging from constant travel between the realms.

This is a wonderful experience IF God causes it to happen. Yet if you are listening to another voice beckoning you to the beyond, there is no telling what doors you’ve opened to the devil by listening. Beware!! Your spirit is meant to be subject to the Spirit of the Lord, not any other spirit, not even your own.

So tell me, did I leave any counterfeits out??
