Commissioned to Govern

If you are familiar with church, then you are likely familiar with this phrase: “Go ye into all the world…” It is the beginning of the Great Commission as recorded in Mark’s Gospel. And you are also probably familiar with Matthew’s version which reads:

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20 emphasis mine)

I’ve always liked Matthew’s version of this Commission better because it provides a fuller understand of what we are being commissioned to do as well as how to fulfill that commission.

When people think of this statement, they usually think of the Gospel, yet I would submit to you that this passage speaks of so much more: it speaks of Kingdom.
