A Call to Prayer
This paraphrased statement was made by Dr. Renny McLean some time ago. I believe it is true. No matter how you feel about President Obama, he is our president. And whoever the set man is over our nation, he, his family, and his advisors, need our fervent prayers.
The Importance of Prayer
In First Timothy 2:1-4, the Apostle Paul admonishes us to make “supplications, prayers, intercessions…for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” Please note that Paul wrote this in the throes of one of the most demonic stretches of leadership with the Roman Emperors who expelled Christians from the Empire, hunted them down, enslaved them to be gladiators, and fed them to lions. I think we can all agree that President Obama is a far cry from that! So why not pray for him to be the best president that he can be—in God?
