Word of the Lord for 2014

Word of the Lord for 2014

Last night my pastor, Apostle Guillermo Maldonado, preached a fabulously “on point” sermon to close the old year and open the new. It was laced with prophetic insights for the year to come.

Over all, he has proclaimed this to be the Year to Recover All.

So David inquired of the Lord, saying, ‘Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?’ And He answered him, ‘Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.’
— I Samuel 30:8

But the Word of the Lord for the year doesn’t stop there. Here’s the rest of what’s in store for us!

8 Identifiers of 2014

1) The Year for an Increase in Supernatural Activity (Good & Bad)

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
— Ephesians 6:12
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds…
— II Corinthians 10:4

This will be a year that we see both godly and demonic supernatural activity increase. Contrary to popular belief, the power of the supernatural is very real. It is a realm more real than our own; it is as eternal as the God Who dwells in it. What we will see is the collusion of the eternal world with that of our temporal world.

2) The Year to Fight for What You Want

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
— I Timothy 6:12

Anything worth having is worth fighting for. Easy come, easy go. If you don’t believe me, stick around for a couple more years. Or look back and remember what happened the last time you didn’t fight for what you wanted.

3) The Year for Alignment

And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the Lord and men.
— I Samuel 2:26
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
— Luke 2:52

This will be the year for divine alignment. Alignment with God, loved ones, peers, etc. Just like it was for the young Samuel and Jesus, it will be a year to increase in stature and favour with God and men!

4) The Year for the Transformation of the Heart

Therefore circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and be stiff-necked no longer.
— Deuteronomy 10:16
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
— Ezekiel 36:26, 27

Apostle Maldonado said something so powerful last night: “Don’t enter into the new year with the forgiveness of the old.” This is the year to leave all of the bitterness, unforgiveness (it makes you sick anyway, literally!), and to soften your heart to God and others.

5) The Year for Breakthrough into Abundance

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
— John 10:10

No more stealing, more giving. This is the year for those who have tithed and sown into good ground to reap abundantly.

6) The Year for Expansion & Multiplication

Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited.
— Isaiah 54:2, 3

Time for expansion! Expansion in spirit, mind, money, business--everywhere! (Just not your waistline! *wink, wink*)

7) The Year of the Restoration of the Family

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
— Joel 2:25 KJV
And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.
— Malachi 4:6

It’s God’s heart for families to remain united and if torn, to be reunited. Husbands to wives, children to parents and vice versa.

8) The Year God Releases His People into Their Dreams

Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
— Habakkuk 2:2, 3

If we remain true to God, He will remain true to us and cause our dreams to come true. Don’t wish upon a star. Have faith in God!

BONUS: Word of Wisdom

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
— II Corinthians 1:20
And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God…
— Deuteronomy 28:2

Every promise of God is true. Yet every promise of God is also conditional. If we do our part, God will always do His.
